Nuvo Iron Decorative Pyramid Aluminium Post Cap for 7.5" x 7.5" / 8" x 8" Posts - Copper Plated

the NUVO IRON PYRAMID CAP that we just purchased on 12/2016 and installed 2/2017 has already started to lose its finish (10/2017) and the aluminum underneath is turning to white oxide. If you have a grey fence post, this should be fine, but if you were hoping to have the copper look, look elsewhere. Southern California weather is hardly extreme, so we expected better, perhaps 5 years, not 8 months! We will now need to replace this disappointing product with a real copper cap. . .

Purchased several of these caps to replace the wooden caps on porch step posts. They are well made and have a nice finish. They fit perfectly and add a nice touch to the overall appearance of the steps and, given they are metal, should last for some time. I shopped around and found several comparable products (solid copper) but were expensive compared to the Nuvo Iron caps and I was looking for caps that would be an exact replacement fit, which these caps are at a much less price. The caps fit perfectly and were very easy to install. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I've actually received a compliment on these. I didn't want plastic and these have a classy look. It wouldn't hurt for them to be about 1/16" bigger on each side because several were too tight.

This product was installed on a fresh water dock and it did not hold up well at all. We had to replace all the post caps after only 6 months. Most of the copper flaked off and the caps had white spots all over them. I expected some weathering but nothing this bad. I had to replace all of them with stainless steel post caps from another manufacturer. An expensive lesson learned.

The product is well made and solid construction. With the plastic insert the cap will fit 3.5 X 5.5 post and without 4 X 6. Because my post was a bit in-between I was able to cut the plastic insert to make it fit perfectly. The only downside is the name of the company is clearly visible on the one exterior side.

These fit snugly and perfectly on my 4x6 posts (3.5 x 5.5) and they look spectacular. Haven't acquired any patina yet and it's been a month so I assume they are coated in some way?

For price pretty good quality. They are solid castings which should make them last awhile.

Price on these is better than wood - and these are the only thing you can find if your posts are 4x6
