I was thinking of using this at my standing desk at work, would you recommend it for that?

I thought they were almost useless, after a few days and a few attempts to get some training value from them I put them back in the box and threw them on a shelf to collect dust. Your level of fitness would have to be very low for these to be effective, maybe if you had been in a coma for three years or are post surgery.

What is its weight capacity when standing on it?

The manufacturer does not specify a weight limit on its accompanying literature. I've used it with clients up to 200 pounds following the listed cautions/recommendations. Hope this is of help.

How much resistance is there? Do you think if you put a 5# dumbbell on the edge it would touch the floor?

It takes very little pressure to move the Dynamic Duo. A 5 lb dumbbell on the edge of the product would certainly be enough weight to tilt it to the floor.

Can I wear without shoes?
