Japan Birds: A Folding Pocket Guide to Familiar Species (Nature Observation International)

Took this on a trip to Japan - very helpful in identifying birds.

Handy for when you don't want to haul an entire printed field guide. You can always supplement it with online sources like eBird (download the Japan pack).

About 78% of the birds we saw on a three day trip were identifiable using this simple guide. No females or immatures. A few surprising in inclusions and exclusiins. But cheap and light.

It's a must have for anyone travel and has some interest in local bird watching. Pocket size

This pocket guide is pretty basic, but has been tremendously helpful with identifying birds we see. Really nice lamination has held up to lots of hikes with my toddlers

This has been great, especially for my daughter, because it's easy to see all of the different birds and the photos are quite accurate.I didn't give it five stars because I think it should include the seasonal birds that come up from the Ryuku islands and Okinawa.
