Although there are several causes of hair loss, male-pattern baldness (also referred to as androgenetic alopecia or hereditary hair loss) accounts for about 95% of hair loss in men. It is usually triggered by a combination of hormonal activity and heredity, which together cause the hair follicles in your scalp to shrink. Over time, the progressive shrinking of certain scalp follicles leads to a shortening of the hair's growing cycle. Hair becomes thinner and shorter, until there is no growth at all. The active ingredient in ROGAINE--minoxidil--reinvigorates shrunken hair follicles, which increases their size and helps regrow thicker looking hair over time. A Pioneer in Hair Regrowth Like many great discoveries, the power of minoxidil to regrow hair came about by chance. In the 1980s, scientists discovered that minoxidil, being studied for other indications, actually showed signs of regrowing hair. ROGAINE applied this discovery to produce the first topical brand approved by the FDA to regrow hair. Minoxidil is the only over-the-counter ingredient FDA approved to regrow hair. Since the discovery, ROGAINE has empowered millions of people to take control of their hair loss with a series of breakthroughs. About ROGAINE: A History of Results and Innovation ROGAINE is the first topical brand approved by the FDA to regrow hair--in both men and women. 5 star product!
I love Rogaine foam. It is easy to apply and smells really good. I have been using for three months along with Propidren Propidren DHT Blocker with Saw Palmetto to Prevent Hair Loss and Stimulate Hair Follicles to Stop Hair Loss and Regrow Hair and notice much less hair in the shower and on my pillow, so it is definitely working. It is a great value on Amazon as well, can't beat the price.

Head and beard experiment.
I’ve been in denial for years about my hair. From the front it looks like I have a full head of hair. But if I grab a mirror and look at the top toward the back……oh dear. I decided I just won’t look and pretend it’s not there.Yeah well………I grabbed a mirror two weeks ago and what I saw almost made me faint. My bald crop circle has increased exponentially. Pitiful. I’ve heard a lot of bad things about minox over the years. In fact I tried the Kirkland brand a few years ago on my face and developed horrendous side effects. Tingling on the side of my face. Rapid heartbeat. I quit after only a few weeks.02/21/2018. Day one…I read the foam eliminates most side effects for some reason and that does appear to be the case. No rapid heartrate, no tingling. Just slap some on my face and on my head and I’m ready to roll. It dries almost instantly so you have to be quick about spreading it around on your head and beard area. It couldn’t be any easier. The product has zero smell either. In the morning I was able to use a small amount of pomade after the foam dried, as I always do for styling. No issues…But will it work for hair regrowth? I plan on using this for six months. Either it works or it doesn’t. If it doesn’t then I’m out the money and annoyed. I hope it works. Five stars for now but that may change in the next six months.Next update in one month.03/20/2017.1 month update.Well, the back of my head appears to be filling in already. The top of my head looks a tad thicker. My beard is sprouting new little hairs all over the place. So far I’m happy and I have no side effects.Next update in April.04/21/2018Hair is a little thicker. More and more hairs are popping up along my beard line. So far, so good. Next update in May.05/21/2018. Pretty much the same as last month. More hair on my face but not nearly enough. My head appears to be at a standstill though. No thicker but no thinner. Next update in June.06/21/2018The back of my head is now entirely filled in. Yayyy. The top of my head still has a bald patch about the size of a dollar coin. But the area that was bald has filled in by about 80%.Beard is thicker but I think it will take a full year to see final results. I'm happy so far.07/23/2018.Well, my foam finally ran out so I decided to switch to the liquid. So far so good. Beard continues to fill in and no side effects so far. It does make your hair kind of greasy though.....Other than that I don't notice any difference between the liquid and foam.09/27/2018Final update. The liquid once again gave me horrible side effects. I developed stabbing pains in my stomach that went away within 24 hours of stopping treatment. Curious to see if I could replicate the experience I started again after a few days. Within 24 hours the pain started again. I read that it's a rare side effect.I have discontinued minox for now....Still can't grow a beard. It did fill in significantly though so I judge minox a success in that area. I just didn't use it long enough. For hair.........uugh. I refuse to even look back there in a mirror, it's too depressing. lol.Good luck and best wishes with your quest for missing follicles.

you’ll be disappointed. So far
Instructions say “Not for hairline use” “Top of scalp only”. Ignore that. If it works for beards it’ll work anywhere. From what I’ve noticed after four months, My hairline is seeing more results than my scalp. They say don’t make any judgements until at least six months. That may also be true. But so far, 4 months in, my hairline is making much more progress. They are 100% correct about using Minoxidil 5% (Rogaine) twice a day. If you slack, or fail to follow a daily process you’ll cheat yourself and blame the product. Be consistent. If not, you’ll be disappointed. So far, from what I’ve seen my “Hairline” is making tremendous progress. My scalp, not as quickly. But my scalp is definitely seeing progress. Just not as immediately as my hairline. My hair in general. Stronger, thicker better looking. Ratings: Hairline B+. Top of scalp C+/B- . Why scientist believe it’s only for top of scalp treatment im unsure of. When they know damn well it works. All over. 4stars. I’ll check back in 2 months.

A hair regrowth product that works!
My hair has been gradually thinning over the last 35 years. I have tried many things to help, but nothing really seemed to make a difference. I was at the point where I didn't want to leave the house because my hair was so thin. I tried Rogaine foam at my dermatologist's recommendation. Even though I am female, I use the men's Rogaine two times a day. (Be advised that is not what the instructions recommend for women, so you can make your own decision about using it once (recommended for women) or twice daily.) It was the first thing that had ever helped. I could tell that I was shedding less hair. A few months later, I also started using Monat (directly from the company, so I was sure of authenticity) because my dermatologist had also mentioned Monat as a product that might help. I wash my hair every day with Monat's Intense Repair shampoo and leave it on my hair for 5 minutes before rinsing and conditioning.I think together Rogaine foam and Monat have given me real results. While I still don't have super thick hair, it now looks appropriate for someone my age (55). I am incredibly happy with the results. I don't have to carefully try to arrange it on top and in the back to cover extra thin spots. They are gone. Someone who hadn't seen me in a while stopped by. When I opened the door, she did a double take and said, "You have so much hair!" I told my husband about it and he said, "You do. You look like -" and pointed to a picture on the wall from about 12 years ago. He said I was getting a woolly head again! :) (A slight exaggeration, but still nice to hear!)Also, I wanted to mention what didn't work for me, in case that might help someone. I have tried lots of supplements and pills that are supposed to regrow hair and have never seen any results. I still take biotin anyway, because it is inexpensive, and lots of people say it helps. Also, I have noticed that sugar first thing in the morning really makes me shed a lot of hair. I was having fruit smoothies and my hair really started falling out. I now have a low carb breakfast. Lastly, in the past, when I tried Rogaine, I had always used the generic. I never saw any results, so I assumed the name brand Rogaine wouldn't help either. But, at least for me, there was a night and day difference between generic and name brand Rogaine.(By the way, I am not getting any benefit from Rogaine or Monat for mentioning their products. I just hope my experiences can help someone else.) Blessings!
