Pretty! But it needed some adjustments
I was extremely impressed with how this looked. It's beautiful for the money. I was really afraid that it would look like a toy. Thats not the case at all, the inlay and finish is all quality. The sound isn't FANTASTIC, it's decent at best. Not that you can expect martin sound from a $100 uke, but for an instrument I'd rather it sound better than it looked. And I wasn't very impressed with how this sounded. I can't really compare to other soprano uke's, only other soprano i've played was a toy. And I know it's not going to project like the concert and tenor ukulele's I own, but it definitely lacks a certain punch.Out of the box, and after tuning, the 2nd string was buzzing a lot. And the first fret on the bottom 2 strings were really hard to press. It was clear to me that some adjustments to the ukulele had to be made, and that as always when you're purchasing new..was annoying. Also, like a lot of ukuleles, this had trouble staying in tune for awhile. So just be aware of that when you purchase, it's not going to sound amazing out-of-the-box, and it'll take some wearing in to live up to it's expectations.Look: 4.5/5Sound: 3.25/5Overall Quality: 3.8/5..After the couple adjustments, and all my negative banter aside, for the money it really is still a pretty great starter uke. I don't think anyone buying this will be disappointed in the long run. But if you're not sure what size to get, i'd honestly recommend the concert to start. Unless you have extremely small hands. And my recommendation is the luna tattoo concert uke, for the exact same price you get an instrument that sounds awesome out-of-the-box and it comes with a nice gig bag.

Look closely
After recieving this uke in the mail, I thought I was sent the wrong one. There is this sort of "pearl" outline through the uke, and it says "aloha" on the neck. If I had seen these things, I wouldn't have spent $100 on it. But, as I look closer at the picture, it is the same uke, just hard to see. Also, the uke looks very plastic due to its severe glossing. But, even though it looks nothing like I thought it would, it has a really nice sound. Doens't sound very much like a toy, and has a great volume. The strings took a while to settle into place after tuning them over and over, but now have a very sturdy pitch.Overall, this is a great beginners uke, but beware, it's VERY glossy.

Great uke!
My 5 year old is taking uke lessons and I wanted one she could learn on. My teenager also plays and I wanted to make sure the one I bought was good enough for him as well. The first one I got was missing the bridge but I sent a message and received a replacement in a couple of days. No worries there! The uke keeps tuned even when we play it a bunch and sounds great! I've had other brand ukes and this one is definitely the best one I've had. I really like the detail around the body too....it's pretty!

excellent instrument
This ukelele has a fine finish, nicely made with tropical woods (in Malasia, I hope the wood is sourced from an eco-friendly company), with a sweet and loud tone. I am still breaking in the strings, which is normal, but strongly recommend this model as an excellent investment and a lot of fun to play. The fretboard is nicely made with even frets and a pretty dark wood.Great purchase.

Wish it had closed tuners and a gig bag.
Wish it had closed tuners and a gig bag. It is a delightful instrument nonetheless.

Great
This is an excellent ukulele however the strings it comes with are garbage. Good stings are relatively inexpensive to replace so it's not a big deal.

Beautiful smooth wood finish and trim.
I replaced an OU12 for the OU13 because of the feel and quality of a beautiful clear lacquer finish.

A lot of 'twang' for your 'buck'!
I have to say I am no expert...... at all. This is know one of my three ukes. Apart from the strings which were black and not white as illustrated; I think this is a superb instrument. I replaced the strings with Aquila Super Nylgut. The uke is a pleasure to play with a great sweet sound. The finish is good but not the best, but at the price I am more than satisfied. Tuners are great and with good strings the uke holds tune well. At this price point I am not sure you can buy better?
