If your looking for a beginners plane for your kid or grand child look no further this is the one ! My grandson who just turned 12 was flying this thing in "beginners mode" like a champ the very first time. Granted he's experienced flying drones but this is a whole different animal. The plane is very light and sturdy. The motor is in the back instead of the nose so its protected from nose dives and busted propellers however he didn't nose dive once with the gyro stabilization which keeps the plane flying level and straight when your not turning, climbing or diving. It comes with 2 batteries and depending upon how you fly the battery can last longer or shorter because you can control the speed of the motor which besides saving battery life it also gives a beginner more control over the plane. You can fly slower and have more time to correct mistakes and learn. As you get better you can fly faster but of course that means using more battery power. It’s fun to get the plane up to 300 feet or so, cut the engine and let it glide back down nice and slow. The battery can last for about 15 to 20 minutes, again depending upon how fast you fly and for how long. The battery takes only about a half hr to charge. I bought 2 extra batteries and two extra charging cables so he can fly for over an hour and he can charge 3 out of the 4 batteries at once. The best time to fly is low wind conditions 5-7 mph or ideally no wind. This plane is extremely light so it doesn't take much wind to effect it. Early evening when the sun is going down the wind is usually dying down or some days when its over cast its calm all day. The day my grandson flew his for the first time the wind was about 5-7 mph and he did fine. We were on a 3 diamond baseball field surrounded by trees. He kept the plane lower to the ground so it was less effected by the wind. Later that day we went back at 6:00 pm when the wind was almost nonexistent and the plane flew much more smoothly and we could climb higher. Get this plane its fun for everybody !

Some pilots told me to get the RC plane to begin learning the controls and how everything works Well I chose the 400 Ranger to start. I fly drones and flying an airplane is very different you have to control it constantly so I did crash it a lot in the beginning but I started picking it up and it became very exciting And fun I would say that it’s more exciting than flying a drone 👍beginning with a drone kind a messed me up I had to retrain my self which I did with that little 400 ranger as a beginner after I learn pretty good with that plane which I still have ripped it apart but glued it back together and it still flies pretty good It was very fun to fly I am older and I never thought RC planes would be that much fun so I moved on to a mid intermediate plane which is the carbon cub S 2 with all the bells and whistle‘s if you’re deciding to get that little plane for a beginner I would say that is a great decision to start with then move on to the bigger style planes that fly much better after you learn your controls , I recommend getting the ready to fly version because I bought ready to fly and also bought bind and fly I’m still working on the binding and fly . The ready to fly come ready to go out of the box you just have to kind of put it together it don’t take too long . Now I am progressing up into expert Well kind of sort of still practicing every day and I am becoming very familiar with all the controls I would say that spektrum Remote with the smart battery technology is the best . Yeah you can find everything right here with Amazon some items are on back order because everyone is kind of getting into the sport because of the pandemic just be patient it will get too you Amazon is pretty good with deliveries I give Amazon a lot of credit with their easy ordering and everything comes in great condition so if you are thinking of getting into the RC hobby or trying to become a real pilot yes start off small than move up but make sure that the plane has the new smart technology and with the gyros for beginners it really keeps the plane flying real easy you will have a blast I am enjoying the RC planes a whole lot it is very exciting to fly and with all this Covid going around you can’t get out there in a very wide open space and fly around without worrying about anything. Flight is so much fun for myself it’s addicting just learn your remote and start off small that is a great plane to start with it has the gyros and three modes beginner or intermediate and expert start off with beginner or in immediate but don’t go in expert until you learn everything because it will flip over , do rolls , fly upside down do anything you want an expert but come down very fast also 😂

It is a blast to learn on. It is remarkably sturdy. I got it stuck in a tree and knocked it down with a stick and plowed it into the ground, all with no damage. At full throttle, it is remarkably quick and it glides well even into a light wind. Get it up high and it can soar for quite a while with power off. It comes with 2 batteries. Prepare before your first flight. If you don't know a person who flies, watch a few videos. Charge the batteries. Insert a battery and make sure the controls work well, per the instructions. Exercise the controls back and forth numerous times to loosen the control surfaces. Out of the box they tend to stick in a slight turn or slight up/down and flexing them loosens them a bit. On mine, I used an Exacto knife tip to open the area where the control rods passed thru the body. My first 3 launches plowed straight into the ground. I held the wing edges, 1/2" back, and had my friend power it up. The motor was pushing the nose down. I used my thumb to flex the motor down a few times, so thrust was now straight ahead. Before each flight, make sure the control surfaces move in the direction they should. With any plane the controller can fail to connect and occasionally the surfaces can get reversed. In flight, don't over correct. Full throttle is good for launch and quickly gaining altitude, but 1/3 to 1/2 is adequate for normal flight. With no power it glides beautifully and extends flight time. At full throttle the plane is fast so turns can be jerky if over-corrected. Altitude is your friend, giving room to recover and avoid trees. Practice a gentle touch on the levers. Pushing the controls full-over over corrects the plane, so practice gentle lever movement. In case of emergency, cut power and release the control lever. The plane will self correct to level flight. If you think it's going out of range, cut power and hold the control lever hard left or right and it'll circle down. Keep the controller in safe mode until you've learned well and when you move to other modes, have some altitude. In expert, it's easy to over correct, so simply flip the switch towards you and release the control. That said, it's easy to lose the plane, so write your phone or email address on the plane. I let a friend fly. He was doing well but flew it thru a row of trees. It lost signal from the controller and just flew away. It's all part of learning to fly and, fortunately, happened to a cheap plane. It cost about as much as an afternoon at a video arcade and was a lot more fun. We even got in some exercise, wandering the neighborhood looking for where it may have landed. All great fun.

My 18 year old son loves this airplane. We bought this twice because the first one got stuck in a tree when my husband flew it. My son was able to fly, twist, turn, and do barrel rolls. Little pricey but it provides hours of fun and lasts a good while.

For a product costing this amount, I am very disappointed to say the control had a MAJOR MALFUNCTION. While flying the plane, the control malfunctioned, the plane flew up and in circles and eventually it flew away. This was a Christmas gift, and we are disappointed. We attempted multiple times to regain control of the plane, however nothing worked, the plane did not respond AT ALL to the controller. At the very start of the flight, we had no issues, but it soon malfunctioned. This was also the FIRST FLIGHT we took with the plane. We are willing to update this review if we receive a replacement or refund, however we have been told there is “nothing they can do”.

THIS is a plane for all beginners. I will say this is my third plane and I had three successful flights. I was a bit skeptical after watching videos about which planes were great for beginners, and testing and badly damaging the first two. The first plane was very light, which turned into a fight in 5 mph wind and not being able to land in the field that I was flying, but instead landing in the road and having someone run over it. The second plane was very big, it had big wheels, I could fly that thing well in pretty high winds, had one successful flight in 20 mph gusts. Until one day during takeoff i nose dived into the ground. The reason these two stories are important in because my maiden flight with this plane was the best of both of my first two planes. This plane was a little difficult to fly in the 10 mph winds, but I still maintained control of it, even though it is as light as the first plane. I got a LOT of altitude, which was a bit scary if I’m being honest (the higher it goes the higher the winds). I was able to cut it into the wind and then the scary part..... I had to nose it down to bring it in closer for my preparation for landing. The most awesome thing happened though, I did NOT have to pull back to get it level! It leveled out perfectly as soon as I put it back center. I had three successful flights, with a little wind, it was awesome to allow the glide effect and just enjoy the flight time. I recommend THIS for anyone’s first plane. You can tell the durability from others like it, and it definitely has a forgiving flight stability that allows the beginners to understand the flight patterns. Update: i took a risk in 15-20 mph gusts, I would not suggest doing such a thing for beginners, the plane was all over the place, I thought that I was going to lose the plane at one point but was able to recover. Had the battery entered into low power mode, I most like would have lost it. However I was able to make a pretty rough landing. The plane is fine, I did get it back in the house in one piece. VERY durable, even after wrecking into a tree. VERY worth the money to learn how to fly. My experience level is now 20 full hours of flight. UPDATE 2: I have flown this for more than 80 hours now. Probably going to need to get some battery replacements at this point. I’m not getting the 15 minutes of flight any longer. It’s more around 10 minutes on two of them, I’m not sure if the third battery is ever getting charged. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. But this plane has definitely served THE purpose. It has taught me a great deal about flying. I’m now waiting on a larger scale of this model of plane. It’s still in great working order and I’m still as pleased as I was with the maiden flight. I’m moving up to a 1400mm model that seems to be the next step. Although I’m very shocked at how well this particular model can do tricks (inverted flight for a few seconds , sort of air stalls, loops, etc.) it still lacks maneuvers because of the lack of ailerons. Again, I’m going to keep this running until the rudder falls off, it’s such a fun little plane that is so durable and is easy to fly in 25 mph wind (for the more advanced flyer). I’m now ready to move on to the knife edge, air stalls, snaps and other such tricks.
