I had been hearing a lot about diamond painting and we love art projects in my house. So I decided to order this 2 pack space diamond art. This has 2 different galaxy kits with each kit packaged separately for keeping accessories together. It is very much like color or paint by number but instead you utilize little plastic gems. The “painting” is a piece of canvas that has adhesive pre applied to the picture portion. Each color has a number and an icon that coordinate. You then roll out your picture to begin. It comes with a gem pick up tool. With this you have to stick it into the small wax square provided to Prime it and help it pick up the gems. It also comes with a green tray to put a color gem in while you work on that color. They both work very well for their purpose. After your tool is primed and you pick up a diamond you peel back only a small workable portion on the mat as you go so that you can put it away and keep it safe as you take your time working on these. It can take some time depending on the size and style. These have the entire picture in diamonds. My 12 yr old daughter joined me in working on this (we still haven’t finished but hope to post a picture when we are done). She had no problems doing this activity. Keep in mind that depending on the color of your project piece and the size of the diamonds that some people may need a magnifying light to help with visibility. I did not have to use a lamp or a magnifying glass but my eyesight is healthy. This is a great little project and a cool technique to learn. I recommend giving it a try. You can also by some that are more simple to start. I would say this may be a medium level of difficulty.

So this is the first time I have ever done a diamond painting. So I did a lot of reasearch on YouTube for tips and tricks and everything I should know. So I felt when this arrived thAt I knew what I was doing.It came nicely packaged. Both canvases came in a box with bubble wrap. They were then wrapped in plastic with all the contents. They were rolled loosely so there was no creases or bubbles.I have not finished this painting yet but I love it. It’s so relaxing. I can sit there for hours. This painting comes with the drill tool, a tray, the waxy stuff that goes in your drill, the drills, and canvas. The canvas was fairly sticky. I didn’t have a problem with the drills sticking to the canvas. The canvas has round drills and is a 30x40. ThAt is measuring the whole canvas not the picture part. So the finished product will be much smaller. The drills go by the dmc code so if there is any left over they can be used for other projects. Key is printed well and easy to read. It lists this number of the color, which are clearly printed on the bags, the symbol and the dmc code. It comes with two canvases. I have not opened the other one yet.Now for the cons of this painting. I found there to be a few. Although you can read the key, it is very hard to read one of the symbols on the painting. It’s barley printed and hard to see on the dark background. Also there is no inventory list. It would be nice to have one just to double check to make sure you have all the beads before you started. There is no instructions. Although it is very explanatory if you have cross stitched before, then you can do this, but for people looking for a new craft that have never done anything before, it would be hard to know what to do. Also the painting is so small, there is no detail. I didn’t even know there was two people in the background of the sky canvas, until I came on here to write this review. So I had to take another look, and when you look at the canvas it just looks like two lines. So then I stood farther way, and you still can’t make out the details. Everything is just kinda jumbled together.So if you are just starting out, this would be a great practice piece.

This was my first try at diamond painting and it is quite addicting! I was afraid it would take longer than my attention span to complete but once I finally got started I didn't want to stop! This is a 2 pack with 2 separate images and each set comes with it's own diamonds and tools. The mat came rolled up so I had to set it out and lay books on it to get it flattened out. It has a plastic protective covering on the mat because it is super sticky which makes the gems easy to stick to it but you can easily move them if you misplace them. There are NO directions and what little is written on the mat is either poor english or a foreign language. It was easy enough to figure it out though! The gem pick up tool seems cheap but works very well. You have to dig it into the wax square that is provided to help pick up the gems. I wonder if a wax pencil would work just as well? It also comes with a little green tray that is perfect for lining up the gems for easy picking up! The diamonds aren't Swarovski or something like that, they are just plastic which I was disappointed in at first but after starting I realized the plastic is just as reflective and leaves a pretty neat shimmer. I do wish the size of the design would have been a normal size to fit a frame of some sort. The dimensions they listed didn't match what I received which was also disappointing. The image is dark so you will need a well lit area to see what you are doing. The symbols they chose seem weird sometimes hard to dicipher, I would have preferred alpha numerical but that's just me being nit picky. Overall this was a very fun and addicting new craft to try out and I highly suggest giving it a try!

This was a perfect Diamond Painting Kit for my oldest daughter. It isn't huge, isn't too complicated, and is just so beautiful! This kit comes with everything you need, though you might want some containers or baggies to keep your gems ones you open them! I was so impressed by how quickly my daughter finished her first one. It is not as sharp as the product image but it does look fantastic and it is loved! I am going to include photos to help give you an idea of what it will look like when it is done!
