The shape of the battery was not right for the UV-5RA, but can fit with a slight modification. It worked fine on my UV-5R. Love the USB charging!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Well, it’s a battery. Fits well, and both provides a long run time (haven’t let run continuously and amount of to/rx effects duration) but way longer than I typically need. Also, for me, makes the overall size feel better in my hand.
