Perfect for an external SSD enclosure on Apple Silicon Macs using Thunderbolt 4
Unlike most of the products that are labeled “Thunderbolt 4 compatible,” this cable is certified and delivers 30gbit+ speeds to the newer Pcie Gen 4 NVME SSDs in thunderbolt enclosures that are rated for 40gbit transfers. A great product and a good value.

Great cable with reliable communications and power connectivity
I was having trouble with my Thunderbolt connection from my Plugable USB Port replicator to my Dell laptop, and I also wanted the 90deg connector to keep the cable routing streamlined. This cable has been very reliable and seems to be very good quality. Solved my communication problems!

Amazing quality cable, just not long enough.
This is the best thunderbolt 4 cable I’ve ever used. Performs perfectly, value is solid, and charging capacity is exactly as expected. It is short however, making it hard in many cases to use with a monitor arm as the cable run is rarely long enough to connect the device (laptop, display, etc.) that is being used without cluttered by immediate desk area around monitor arm or other desk accessories. An extra 20 cm would be ideal.

Another great cable from Plugable. A reliable, solid choice for TB4.
This review is for the “Plugable Thunderbolt 4 Cable Right Angle 40Gbps with 240W EPR Charging, 8K Display, Intel Certified 2.6 Feet (80CM) Compatible with USB4, Thunderbolt 3, USB C, iPad, MacBook, Windows (TBT4-240W-80CMR)” on 29MAY2024I’m a big fan of the Plugable products. They’ve all been fairly solid. There was a time when I was using a Surface Pro adapter from them and I had a minor comment about the resolutions from the adapter. They messaged me and fixed it in the next revision! Now, that’s customer service. This cable is a typical Thunderbolt 4 cable. Plugable’s cable is not as flexible as other cables, you’ll feel that the cable is a lot more plasticky and stiff than other cables, but that’s saying its not of good quality. The plugs are molded plastic of similar type and seem to be of good construction, so they should be able to withstand field use. The cable is not tacky at all, but not as smooth as the newer type with silicone, nor is it like a Google or Apple cable sheath. It does feel like quality, however. The cable has the correct IC at the plugs, telling the devices what power should be flowing through the cable, and since it’s TB4, it should also work with all flavors of USB that came before, including USB3.2 2x2, which I’ll mention again in a moment. In terms of power, I can only test for 140w PD, which it worked to full power with my 140w battery and meter. The cable slowly ramped up to 140w, which is what it should at spec, and sometime around 85% it lowered down to ~80w until it was close to full, staying at 5-10w. I checked to see if the plugs were hot. They were not. I consider that to be a successful charge! In terms of data transmission. I check not only TB4/USB4, but also 3.2 2x2 20Gbs, which isn’t always supported with cables correctly. This cable sustained a 2TB transfer at 2.1 Gbs for TB4/USB4, and 1.3 Gbs for USB 3.2 2x2. Your milage may vary, but this means the cable is working correctly with my Intel NUC 12 TB4 port and the two drives that I tested with.So yes, this is a great cable, and with the reliability and customer service of Plugable, I’d say get it. Worth the price for sure. This is a RECOMMEND!

Just as advertised!
Used this cable as a replacement for my el gato capture card and had nothing but success using it! Connectivity is as easy as plug and play and the quality of the cable feels very durable!Performance seems to be as advertised considering the capture card is very specific on what is compatible with it!Overall I’ll go out on a limb and say this is a great high speed cable to fit most people’s needs!Hope the insight helps, cheers! :^)

Performed appropriately for its specifications in all my testing
I have one caveat for my review of this Pluggable Thunderbolt4 C to C cable, and it's that I don't actually have the equipment to test this at its limits. Thunderbolt4 supports up to 8k resolutions, or dual 4k screens, as well as 240W charging. By contrast, my test laptop can output via a dock on two screens, but I have a 4k monitor and 1080p monitor and the laptop can't exceed 60hz refresh rates in a multi-monitor configuration with my dock. It also tops out at 100W charging. I tested this cable by using it as an extension between my dock and laptop, and performance was flawless; it was like the cable wasn't even there, which is exactly what you'd want.It does have a couple form-factor quirks. First, the connectors themselves are quite large, and the right-angle will block any adjacent ports behind it. Second, the cable is thick and not braided, so it's not going to make tight turns easily. Last, and this may just be manufacturing variance, but when I straight it out there is a slight twist in the cable so that if laid on a flat surface both connectors don't lie perfectly flat. That is a very minor nitpick though. It also doesn't have any sort of indicator lighting to indicate a live connection, which is either nice or bad depending solely on personal preference. It's well-made and future proof, which is great, but also *quite expensive* at time of review. Most people don't need a cable with these specs right now, and so $40 CAD is a pretty high asking price for something you probably don't actually need. My suggestion is to look at the actual specs of your equipment and buy cables accordingly.

Bit pricey but works amazing
I was looking for a right-angled USB C + for my desk setup. I had to return my earlier purchase from another brand since it did not work. Finally, decided to go with plugable even though it is pricier and the cable length is too short. But it works pretty damn good. so I am happy with the purchase.

Fast Cable That Clears The Clutter
I love having the cable go straight back from my laptop. It gets the cable mess out of the way and I don't even have to think about it.This is one fine cable. It is thick, solid, and yet as flexible as it should be. The ends are really tough with good strain relief and it looks like it is going to last a long time.Fast, too. I've tried it with a couple of USB-C laptops and it works perfectly. I didn't hit the rated speed of 40Gbps because I try to stay a bit behing the leading edge of the technology curve, but I can say that it works great for everything I tried.Apparently it's rated for 240 watts for PD charging, but I don't have anything even remotely close to that power level. I could probably open fifty browser windows and never hit that. It can handle 60 watts though, and that's enough for me.Apparently, it can do 8k at 60Hz, which is impressive, but I'll have to get back to you when I have something that can ship video data anywhere close to that over USB-C. Good to know that I'm ready when my ship comes in, though.A great cable.

Worked perfect
The Plugable Thunderbolt 4 Cable Right Angle 40Gbps with 240W EPR Charging proved to be an excellent replacement for my SSD with USB-C connectivity. Despite my laptop's fastest port only supporting speeds of 10Gbps, this cable delivered flawless performance, offering a glimpse of its full potential for future use with a more capable device.Replacing the original cable that came with the SSD was a breeze, and I immediately noticed the difference in speed compared to other cables I've tried, which often lagged behind at USB 2.0 speeds. The Plugable cable's top-notch quality is evident, promising 40Gbps speeds and 240W charging capacity, making it a versatile option for various devices and applications. What sets this cable apart is its extensive compatibility, boasting support for Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, USB-C, and a host of other standards. With features like DisplayPort at 8K resolution, it truly covers all the bases. If you're in need of Thunderbolt 4 compatibility and want a cable that's ready for just about anything, look no further than the Plugable Thunderbolt 4 Cable. Its unmatched reliability is especially crucial when copying important files over to your SSD, providing peace of mind that your data transfers will be swift, secure, and seamless.

A Well Made Heavy Duty Thunderbolt 4 Charge/Data Cable
The USB-C form factor is most frequently used for Thunderbolt. That's an industry standard that allows high speed video, data and power to go through a single port. On the most recent MacBooks, that's all you get. Gone are DVI-D, Ethernet, audio, Firewire and USB-A ports. A hub is typically used to split these connections from a single Thunderbolt port. This is quite a heavy duty cable designed for Thunderbolt 4. Construction and strain reliefs are unusually solid (see photo). In theory, it can handle up to 240W of power, 8K video and blazingly fast data transfer. While I don't have an 8K video display or Thunderbolt SSDs to test, I do have a high power charging block for my MacBook. It connected easily and worked exactly as expected (see screenshot). This could be an especially good choice for connecting a USB multifunction hub, a 4K or higher display or a very fast SSD drive. Highly recommended.
