Clean reading
My daughter, 6 is an AVID reader and got through this in about an hour.As you can imagine I’m being pestered for the rest of the books in the series. I also got one for my niece 5, who wants to purchase the rest too.As for the storyline they give details and create real life imagery and suspense of what life was like for these women without it being too scary! Perfect for age 8-10 but also younger advanced readers.

Te girls who changed the world
This is a missionary biography for children. These ladies lived their lives for God influencing and changing people and situations around them while risking their own lives. This book was ordered as used. Fast delivery in very good condition.

Baptism present
We bought for our grand-daughters' baptism. It is an interesting book of potted biographies, ideal for early teenagers. It encourages youngsters to read of Christians who really did make a difference.DL

Classic novel
I enjoyed reading about the life of a vicar and his family written during the 19th century. Life was so different from today and there was real poverty.Oliver Goldsmith tells this story in a language completely changed from 21st century so some of the prose was difficult to understand but this would be useful for a student of the English language. Some of the disasters that befell the vicar and his wife were a bit improbable but it has a clever conclusion.

Average summaries of Christian women
I like the variety of women in here, and I like the idea of one book and lots of stories. However the stories were bland and missing huge amounts of crucial biography. E.g. Joni Eareckson goes from feeling trapped and hopeless, then next paragraph skips 20 or so years of all the ways God helped her to when she's already married. There are also a fair few typos and the layout is not great for reading (the book title at the top of each page runs into the actual page printing and my emerging reader kept getting stuck). If I could redo, I wouldn't buy this, and I'd instead spend my money on 10 separate, quality, detailed biographies of each woman, as these condensed versions just don't do their stories justice. Like the idea, but it didn't deliver.

The stories are easy enough for elementary students to read
The stories are easy enough for elementary students to read. The biographies are not very long but offer enough insight into the life of that individual. The thing I liked best about each "biography" is at the conclusion of each story they first provide you with a special fact that relates to the individual's story and then sums up that person's life and ties in how that person's life was used by God. In addition, at the end of all of the biographies there is a short reading comprehension quiz covering each of the individuals covered in the book. I would highly recommend this book.

Concise and to the point
It was good to read simple stories of true women of the faith. Many I had not read about in detail, and some I’d never heard before.

GREAT book for ages 8-11
She likes it. She says there is nothing about it she would change. She likes that all the missionaries are from vayring walks of life (socioeconomic classes). She comprehends all the material and thinks is a GOOD book. So, if my 10 year old likes it, maybe yours will too.
