Great pillow
I have suffered for years with neck and shoulder issues as well as migraines due to injury. My acupuncturist recommended this pillow to help ease my neck and shoulder tension/pain. I bought it and will not own any other pillow again. This pillow puts your neck and head in it's natural position allowing you to sleep better and have little to no tension the next morning. Great concept and functionality and it doesn't cost you the bank.

Therapeutic, but lumpy
This pillow is a collection of different height lumps. With a little effort you can find two lumps that are the right heights to support your head and neck. I have only woken up with a serious neck ache once during a year and half of using it, which is a pretty good track record for me. Still, I roust around a lot with the lump I've chosen for my head poking it uncomfortably. This pillow hasn't given out from my admittedly rough treatment as quickly as foam pillows do. Foam pillows also take too long to off-gas in my experience. This pillow off-gassed pretty quickly and you could speed up the process by cutting open the covering and washing it. This pillow works best with a larger size pillow case.

The best pillow I've tried
I have tight neck and shoulders and sometimes wake up with neck pain due to the position I've slept in. I tried different pillows that would support my neck and keep me in a good posture through the night, including expensive ones. No one has worked as well as this one. Helps me keep a good posture when sleeping on my back or side. The neck channels plus the lowered center cradle your head in a comfortable way.The only thing I would change is to make that lowered center part flat. It is bumpy, so my head can't just 'sit' but goes to one side or the other. That would make it perfect.

Neck Issues & Hemicrania Continua
My History:Lifelong migraine sufferer; experienced permanent one-sided head pain/headache as of 11/20/11. Went emergency room, visited ENT, neurologists, chiropractor, pain management specialists. Had three MRIs done of head and cervical spine. Had MRAs done of head and cervical spine without contrast. Diagnosed with three bulging discs in my cervical spine. Migraine meds, calcium channel blockers and steroids did not alleviate the head pain. Had three cervical facet injections and an occipital nerve block. The pain in my neck was diminished but I still had a permanent headache. The pain was not a migraine, acute migraine meds did not work. I ordered the Chiroflow water pillow, this destroyed my neck and made head pain worse. Ordered a foam cervical pillow. This was helping, but I had to sleep on my side as laying on my back or other side would put too much pressure on my head. Finally got an appointment with the Montefiore Headache Center in the Bronx. I was diagnosed with Hemicrania Continua. This is defined as:Hemicrania continua (HC) is a persistent unilateral headache that responds to indomethacin. It is usually unremitting, but rare cases of remission have been documented.[1] Hemicrania continua is considered a primary headache disorder, meaning that it is not caused by another condition. So, after starting a drug regimen with indomethacin for many months now, plus baclofen, I am getting sporadic relief and my symptoms are getting better. I have had this condition for one year now.Enter the pillow:I ordered this because I have to sleep on my right side and is advertised as perfect for side sleeping but still gives you neck support. I had no issues the first night. Its been a week now of sleeping on this pillow and i can sleep on my back. This pillow does not hit the same pressure points on my head as a regular foam cervicle pillow. This is still soft (i got regular) and keeps its form. My neck has been perfect. Side sleeping is extremely comfortable. I would swear by this pillow. It is helping my symptoms and I am extremely satisfied.

Great pillow
I love these pillows. My favorite thing is that because I tend to sleep on my back or sides, with the center channel I don't wake up to adjust my pillow as I change position. My neck stays in the proper alignment no matter whether I'm sleeping on my back or side. The top and bottom are two different widths. I prefer the narrower width, however my husband prefers the wider side. It's great because you can use it whichever way. This pillow is comfortable and helps keep my neck comfortable and aligned. I don't wake up with neck strain! As for the softer or firmer choice which this pillow comes in, I don't find a huge difference. Both work well. My husband has the firmer pillow, I have the softer one. Both are awesome!

I found this pillow very uncomfortable
I had a pillow from the same company about 16 years ago that I loved and used for about 5 years. I could not find the exact same pillow, so I ordered a new product. I tried this product for a month and ended up with large knots in the muscles under my shoulder blades. Also, I like to put my hair in a high ponytail to keep it out of my way when I sleep, but the depression for your head is so small that my usual ponytail location was extremely uncomfortable.

Good for cervical kyphosis
From a car accident I have a 100% straight neck missing the natural curve. This leads to pain and pinched nerves between the discs. The most beneficial thing I've found is sleeping with curved neck support. It was hard to find a pillow that gave my neck support without tilting the rest of my head upward too much to actually be beneficial. The depressed square fixes that. Before getting this pillow I was getting hit or miss results using a rolled towel under my neck and a super thin pillow for where my head would rest. This pillow does what I need it to do. I would recommend sleeping with some sort of pillow under your knees if you develop back pain, to help your back make contact with the bed. I use a thin, normal pillow.
