For each 10F reduction in water temperature, you can save between 3%-5% in heating costs. Don't let your hot water become too hot and risk scalding you, the elderly, or your baby or child. It also helps keep an eye on your heating costs. The Consumere Safety Commission recommends a lower setting. TAN - the temperature is less than that number. BLACK WITHIN THE RED SQUARE - the temperature is 65C or more. 3) If no change occurs, the water temperature is under 50. 4) For most uses 50C to 55C should be adequate.
