The most famous painting in the world is the main attraction of the Louvre museum in Paris. Leonardo da Vinci painted it from the year 1503 or 1504 till shortly before he died in 1519. The subject of the painting is believed to be Lisa del Giocondo, wife of a wealthy businessman of that era. Da Vinci created this painting when Lisa and her husband moved to a new home and when they had their second child. However, there are different opinions about the subject and some people even dare to think the subject is none other than Leonardo himself.
