Magic Kittens?
This is a lovely book, especially for older children. being a forthrightly written mixture of adventure, family and philosophy, typical of the author. There's a lot to enjoy and provoke thought and the characters are likable but I can't say more or I'll spoil the story!Interestingly and like two of Dodie Smith's other classics ("The 101 Dalmations" of 1956 and "The Starlight Barking" of 1967), it's quite easy to tell when it was written.Warmly recommended by this lifelong fan of the Dalmations tales.

Beautiful story
I highly recommend this lovely story for your child's book shelf. It's a shame it isn't readily available - its one of my favourites from my own childhood. I remember buying it from the school's book club and being thrilled when it was chosen as the afternoon storybook. Gentle and sweet, with a bit of mystery - perfect!

The midnight Kittens review
I loved this book and it's a great book to read if you feel lonely or in an adventurous mood. it's about two twins called Tom and Pam who live with their Gram. One night they see some kittens come out of the tree at the stroke at midnight.....

I'd recommend for age 10+ … contains a big spoiler!
I just want to warn you folks that if your kid looks forward to Santa coming on Christmas eve, then you should avoid this book!I loved Dodie Smith's other books, but I really kicked myself for giving this to my daughter without having read it myself first.it's a sweet book otherwise, by no means as good as 101D or I Capture the Castle. However, it's aimed presumably at slightly older children, say age 10 or 11.
