Ironvegan Gainer Has Value for Money
I desperately needed to gain weight earlier this year (2023) after hernia surgery. I took a chance and ordered this product (IRONVEGAN Gainer Vanilla Protein Powder, 2500 GR). After trying the recommended serving size (2 scoops) in a shaker blender bottle, I realized it was just too much powder for 12 ounces of liquid. I next tried just one scoop with 12 ounces of my usual shake liquid, oat milk. I knew that I would have to use an electric blender, and I also added about 6 ice cubes and blended for about 30 seconds. Well, that made all the difference in flavor and texture. It tastes fine and is not lumpy. Add a banana or other fruit, and it's even better. What I like about this brand is that it's made in Canada, seems clean, is less expensive, and has a serving of organic greens, which some other brands do not. So, one scoop has 360 calories + 130 calories in oat milk (490 calories!), with 4 grams of fat and 21 grams protein from the powder. I went from 108 lbs. in January to my goal weight of 120 lbs now. I use this shake in the afternoon and different brand protein shake in the morning to avoid duplicating certain ingredients. Some complained about the bag sealing—I just fold over the top and use a big bag clip—no big deal!

It tastes like vomit.
I am a amazon addict bc it is convenient, receiving things weekly at least. I have written like one review in 10 years. I was moved to write this bc it is valuable, I think. I hope to save you the money. The quality is very good, the value might even be OK, except it will make you gag almost to drink it. And, I mixed it with a scoop of almond butter and some whole milk yogurt. Seems that would go with 'Vanilla', no? It did not matter. It was still BAD. And, it is huge drink, with 8+ounces of product plus 20 ounces of liquid. Besides the terrible taste that I could not do, the packaging is misleading. I mean yes, I have some responsibility bc I did not do all the calculations. I only read the BIG print, like most people I think. I was looking for a high calorie, vegan protein powder and I saw, "720 Calories/42 Grams of Protein/1Gram of Sugar/Per Serving. WOW, I thought. Perfect! Just what I was hoping for. Well, if you have done other protein powders you have an idea what a 'scoop' or serving means, or should. I have used 6 or more protein powders previously. In fairness they were whey based products. This was my 1st Vegan powder. If that is true for you... BEWARE! Not only was it not palatable to me, the scoop is H U G E. Like 4+ 0unces. Oh, and a serving is not one, but TWO scoops. More than 8 ounces of product. I mean, who is doing the metric to SAE conversion to figure that out before buying? Really! Not to mention, I had gas and burps like never before. I was in pain and it was horrible for more than 6 hours. I suggest you save your money. At $90 per 4.5LB bag it is not cheap. $180 wasted.

Healthy Ingredients.
I rate this product a 5 not because of the taste that's not that great but for the healthy plant ingredients without the sugar and low sodium levels often found in high levels in those other protein supplements, As a senior the healthy ingredients in a product is more important than the taste.

Disappointed by overwhelming sweetness
I give this 3 stars bcz although I was lucky to find a great nutritional weight gainer, it’s way too sweet. If they would cut back the sugars I’d try it again. It doesn’t need to be so sweet when it’s easier to add fruit to sweeten.

A high carb protien powder that doesn't bloat!
I was using Serious Mass as a weight gainer for a few years. It helped me build muscle but also a bloated belly. It's also super dense and difficult to finish. Since switching to this vegan gainer my bloated belly has deflated, but I'm still gaining muscle. Whey just doesn't agree with me. I wake up with zero appetite and zero ability to put a breakfast together, so this stuff is super important for me to get my metabolism started in the morning and getting a bunch of protien and carbs in before the gym. Also unlike most whey protiens, it mixes well and doesn't get stuck to the inside of the blender. This protien doesn't take great on its own, but what monster is actually choking this down with just water? I mix mine a few different ways but the best so far has been...1 tbsp of unsweetened Cocoa powder2 tbsp of PB fit protien powder2 scoops of this vanilla iron vegan10oz of oatmilk2 small Bananas4 ice cubes

Blender bottles beware
I usually use Vegan Naked Mass but since they were out of that and didn’t anticipate having it for some time I figured this would be a good alternative. The taste is fine, nothing to write home about and the ingredient quality is good by my standards but I’m not the luckiest person either. My biggest problem with this product is how it clumps together in my blender bottles leaving me drinking clumps of dry unmixed powder. I’ve never had this problem with Naked Mass but with this mass gainer, using a shaker bottle for it has become the bane of my existence. Now every time I need to have a shake I have a choice to make, I can suck it up and deal with the very unpleasant clumps in my blender bottle or break out my blender and make a whole to-do of it. It’s a shame, I really wanted to like this product as an alternative but I can safely say now that the Naked Mass is back in stock, I’ll never use this product again once I’m done with what I have and if I run into the same problem again, I’ll be sure to look for an alternative other than this.
