Where is this item made? I'm replacing some made-in-China lines that have that odd petroleum taste/smell that seems to come Chinese rubber products.

I don’t know where it is made but they work great and no smell or bad tastes

No, these are used to connect to faucets. Toilets will typically require 7/8" BC connection.

Does the hose connect to a standard US outdoor garden faucet outlet?

No this is intended for in-home /under sink use. Usually to connect the cold and hot water of a sink faucet to a 3/8 compression fitting shut-off valve, again all under a sink.
