First of all the design is just bad to begin with. Compound that with instructions that overcomplicate things. Wiring the boards first then mounting them to the frame parts means you're tethered in a mess of spaghetti the entire time. Certainly there are "SOME" steps where this is required, however there are many more where it would be easier to do it the other way around. The hardware is garbage. I had brass standoffs break and needing replacement. There's gaps between the standoffs and the boards because the externally threaded portion of the standoff's is too long, or the internally threaded portion is too shallow. The acrylic cuts for the 1.4mm self tapping screws were too big for the screws to bit anything half the time. There's no indication which side of the acrylic components is the "top" of the laser cut side (important because the kerf of the laser cut is wider at the top of the cut) and even using the bottom side these screws didn't bite regularly. The steering servo in what appears to be a cheap drug store RC car chassis doesn't function well enough to turn the bot. The controller only supports basic steering, accelerate and brake and does NOT control the arm. You have to unplug the drive motors and plug them into a different board to switch from the webUI control to the handheld control. There are 3 power switches that must be turned on in a specific sequence.

BLONWINER 2in1 Robotics Tank Review The advertisement states it is compatible with numerous Raspberry Pi models but the documentation specifies Raspberry Pi 4B. The instructions give multiple methods for downloading the Operating System they require. I tried them all and it didn’t work. The instructions don’t require you to zero the servos prior to installing. Rather they wait until the tank is assembled and assume all went well up to that point. As for the instructions,it appears the person who wrote them never assembled the product. If they had they would have rewritten the instructions. When I purchased the item and the wrong Raspberry Pi I went ahead and read the instructions while I considered getting the correct Raspberry Pi. After doing so I decided not to go forward and attempt assembly as I had just returned another company’s version of the product for many of the reasons stated above. Upon making my decision I contacted the company and told them of my dismay. They quickly responded and offered a full refund. Because they were so eager for me to be satisfied I took the refund. I later purchased the correct Raspberry Pi and gave assembly a try. As you can see I was very disappointed and while the company was quick to respond and concerned about customer satisfaction I decided to put my Robotics Tank on a shelf and move on. For information, while I am a novice at this type of project I have complete a robot dog from another company. That project had a number of hardware issues that tried my patience but the instructions were 100% better and the company was equally concerned about customer satisfaction so I hung in there and ended up with a working product. In closing let me suggest that if you are considering purchasing a robotic project that you review the assembly process first. Additionally, understand if you have problems most if not all of these companies are in China and you will be waiting one day for a response if you email them with an issue (unless you assemble it in the dark of night you may get faster responses). Because the company was fast to respond and eager to satisfy I give them 3 stars. If the review was based solely on the product and its instructions I would rate it two stars.

This product is a little hard to put together, but in the long run if you can get it put together it seems to be an awesome product I would recommend this to all of my friends. I really enjoy the detail they put into this to make everything work and fit together.
