A must for anyone with lower leg injuries - you won't be dissapointed!
Works great! Wife was skeptical as first but as she said, "Gives me my freedom." In Oct when she shattered her heel, I googled for the best way to get help while heeling. Most comments were to get a scooter...well, there's several types and with different tires. I did my homework right here on Amazon and found this little guy was the best for its size and handling. My wife is about 5'7" so I opted for the smallest version. Let me say, don't waste your time settling on a different scooter because it's time needed to heal. I bought my wife's scooter the same day because the doctor said the injury would take about 4-6 months to heal. The tires are wider and softer too. This is important when outside on pavement or inside when one transitions from carpet to tile and vice versa. Believe me because I bought a different scooter for the car (another great suggestion by an Amazon consumer comment) but this one has thin tires - similar to the ones on an old baby stroller. My wife knows the difference and the if you can afford two Quad Jr's, buy them. I made the mistake of buying the less expensive one for home and my wife tolerates it. Another tip, buy the sheepskin cover for the seat. It makes a world of difference on the knee and shin - plus you can sit on the seat as a chair too. We've taken the Quad Jr with us on the plane but had to have it placed in the belly of the plane. It's too big to fit in the overhead. I carried a bungie cord to tie the handle bar to the main frame and it worked perfectly. Lastly, buy a basket too....I imagine some would say that's too much money spent but if you're in my wife's situation looking at 4 - 6 months healing time, it's worth the investment too. Throw away those dangerous crutches and ride your way to health. Kids love to see it as do adults that are on crutches. Buyer we ware though, people will stop you to tell you their story and how they should've bought this little guy. He may be small in frame but is tall in toughness!

Lifesaver!
This has been a lifesaver for me. I was non weight bearing for a few weeks following surgery and am still only partial weight bearing 6 weeks out. I'm probably going to be hobbling around with an open wound on my foot for at least a few more weeks. I have calcifications in both shoulders so crutches are really painful for me to use. A rental scooter through my insurance company was going to cost almost as much as a purchase so I decided to purchase a scooter. I chose upgrade to an all terrain model for comfort and stability. I called Knee Rover for advice on the best model scooter for me and they recommended the Quad Jr since I'm 5'2".I LOVE this scooter. It's extremely stable, the wheels have a comfortable ride since they're air filled and it's fairly compact. I teach at a college and can easily zoom around campus with no issues. I've taken this scooter shopping, for dinner, to hospitals and doctors appointments, etc. Once you get used to the wide turning radius, it's easy to get around. The brake works really well, though I wish it had a brake handle on each side, not just the right. It's easiest for me to place it in the back of our minivan but it does fold to fit in either a trunk or on the back seat of a compact car. I'll be honest, I'm not the most gentle on my scooter but it's held up perfectly and I've never lost my balance on it.The knee pad is a bit hard so I purchased the memory foam pad that was recommended. My knee was sore to start but now that I've been using it for two months, I'm used to the knee pressure and the pad helps so much. The only thing that disappointed me was that it did not come with a basket. I bought the one that's made by Knee Rover as it is removable and had a handle and it's worked perfectly. I made the mistake of popping out with crutches the other day cause I didn't want to be packing and unpacking a scooter in the rain. I regretted every second of that trip without my scooter. I can't recommend this enough!
