Wing Chun Dummy Adjustable Height Mook Yan Jong IP Man Training Target (Wood, Red, Silver)

I have been using the dummy for about a month now and it is holding up well. I was worried it would be to small for me, I'm six three, but it ended up being the perfect height for the style of training I have been attempting. I should note that I am a beginner and this is my first dummy I can already tell that I will one day want to step up to a more expensive dummy. Something more customed made specifically for me. Regardless of eventually wanting an upgrade I still believe this dummy is worth every penny. It is well made, I've gotten carried away and hit pretty good a couple of times. Has held up well after three+ weeks of daily use. Easy to assemble, comes with tools but it helps if you have a few extra wrenches, socket set. The seller is also great, the dummy arrived damaged, which appeared to be in transit, I contacted seller and got a new piece sent out right away. Overall, I am very happy and believe that this is a perfect dummy for beginners. If you're not sure about getting one, and don't want to spend 1-2k, try one of these, very solidly made at a reasonable price.

I bought this for training in a small space, and it's been impressive for the price. Took a little time to bolt together the base, then it was just a matter of getting the hole in the bottom of the heavy trunk lined up with the rectangular steel post it sits on. The padding is thin, but enough to save your knuckles if you use it for light punching. Trunk and arms are solid, and the arms and leg slide in freely. It does wobble a bit on the base under impact, which makes me worry it may loosen up over time, so I propped a pell that's about the size of a heavy bag between it and the wall behind it on the back of the stand for added support. I also got some standard size spring arms that swapped out perfectly. The seams on the laminated trunk aren't perfect, but mine has no real signs of splitting. My only real con is that the leg is very square in cross-section, so those corners can bite. Otherwise highly recommended, and shipping was fast!

Easy to assemble. Sturdy construction. Fun to beat on. :) It is my son, not I, who studies martial arts. I have seen his instructors dummies and this one more than measures up. It is made of good solid wood. It makes pleasing sounds when he practices. It is usable for him without any weight added to the platform but will not be for long. I will likely need to place a sand bag on the base, but that was expected. Getting the box into the house was a two man lift which speaks to the solid wood construction. It's so much fun to beat on the thing. I shouldn't want one for myself but I do.One year update - We love this thing. Best praise I can give it is now I want one so I don't have to bother my son when I want to let off a little steam! Thing looks as good as new. This is easily something that could be handed down to his own children one day.

I have used this wooden dummy for over a year now as I have learned and practised dummy forms 1-8. The dummy is very sturdy and durable. I put 50 pound sandbags to offer more stability. However I have recently removed the sandbags, and it still works very well. I highly recommend this dummy. It is extremely good value for the price.

I’m beyond happy with my Mook Yan Jong!! My wife bought this as a birthday gift to me. The Mook Jong arrived well packaged and, the weight of it is quite hefty!There are minor imperfections (a few small cracks) but, for the low cost of the dummy, I feel it gives it character. Besides, I’ve already filled those areas with ‘Professional Wood Filler’ I purchased from ‘Lowe’s’ hardware store. Consequently, I now feel a deeper connection with the wooden dummy.For anyone that’s interested in purchasing a wooden dummy like this… do NOT hesitate!! By the way, I also added Yellow 5/16” Screw Protectors to prevent any accidental marring. View the pictures I’ve added for the details.

I have been very impressed with my purchase. It is very durable, easy to assemble. It came with an instruction sheet, but it was not needed. I was very very impressed with the delivery. I was told it would take about a week to receive the order. I ordered it on a Wednesday, and it was arrived three days later on a Saturday. It was not damaged, no dents or scratches.You can adjust the height using the plates and that is something my wing chun instructors encourages. The dummy does not move a lot. It Is just as good as the ones in the dojo.Great investment.

I must retract my previous review. After just over a month sitting in the corner of my living room this thing is splitting apart. Save your money and buy a real Jong. It’s not even sturdy enough to be a decoration. I thought I had found a great deal but instead I’m an idiot who got ripped off. Don’t be dumb like me, don’t buy this junk.

East to assemble, it was easy to put together but you need a place to secure it to the ground and space to use it.Durability, it’s durable but you must secure it for it to work well.Sturdiness, it is if it is secured correctly.
