When you cannot think of Random Encounters, this book helps. I would like an easy to print and reference, but the book adds ideas. Rules that are optional, not hard and fast. The Dungeon Master guide series is very helpful and in running a DnD game on short notice, this came in clutch. I am a big fan of the series and a believer in the utility of random encounters.

Huge fan of this book series, they really help me create my campaigns a lot faster and with detail.

I have all of these book and love them all. Im a lazy DM and these help me look like I know what Im doing.

a great addition to a busy dm's arsenal. makes it easy to prep adventures with little to no modifications or for the ever-expected but not really planable "how did my party get into this mess" encounters.

At this point I'm super biased with this series. I own almost all the books in the series.More random Encounters can really take - sea faring, political intrigue, religion, and even sci fi based rpgs to the next level. I still believe the first Random Encounters is the best book in the series if you're going to get just one, but the tools in here are awesome!I like that they've moved the one shot adventures to the back of the book rather than the front. I haven't run these yet but they're of the same quality for sure of Random Encounters and I loved those one shots.My only gripe of the series is that the maps aren't in color and there isn't a way right now to get the maps for VTTs, this is an excellent resource for tabletop play, but my group recently moved online and recreating maps electronically is a chore. I'm hoping they'll release them separately at some point.

This book is awesome. I have recently (a year or two ago) became the DM for our group as out main DM had other obligations to attend to more often. I LOVE being a DM, but sometimes (usually) I get mental blocks when trying to come up with ideas about some things. These books are great for that. The one book I can just roll and get a random options, and the other gives me some ideas about adventures. I need to get some of the others too.
