I gave this item a 5 star review because overall it was exactly what I expected, however I did have 2 issues with the product that I had to address. 1st, the main bolt that goes through the hinge portion of the hitch assy lacked about 2 threads going completely through the nut (see pic), I just got a longer bolt and installed it. 2nd, the posted size for the carrier is for the outside dimension and does not take into consideration the thickness of the square tubing around the top portion so the actual dimension is about 1-1/2" smaller than the overall dimension. I needed about 29.5 " for what I am using it for so I had to jack the outter frame out to accomidate my cargo (an E-Trike). All in all these two modifications were minor and the carrier does exactly what I needed.

We bought several items at different places, but stayed Mockins equipment, with which we were always happy.Unfortunately, we did have an issue with one item. The retailer where we made this purchase was not willing to work with us.Luckily, I had the good fortune to reach Ingrid, in Mockins Customer Service. Despite the issue with the original retailer and, although we were unable to resolve it through Ingrid, she took the initiative to search and find a previous order. Though we ended the first call unable to reach a happy conclusion, Ingrid callede back. After conducting her research (on her own time), Ingrid was able to help me reach a satisfactory resolution. KUDOS to Ingrid. She could have given up and moved on to another customer. Instead, she really went the extra mile!It is so rare to see this level of customer service nowadays. Again, kudos to Ingrid!

Very sturdy luggage rack. It has plenty of space and the flexible case nice for traveling through rain. The assembly was easy but the instructions could be a little more detailed. I would recommend it for anyone needing extra space.

This product was pretty easy to put together. It only took us four hours to put it together. Worked great for holding our bikes and other things on it. The orange straps are the only week part of it all. They don't work right and they jamed on us so we had to buy bunges to replace the straps that come with it. Other then the strapping the rest worked great.

This is going to be perfect for vacation. It will free up room in the car the price was super reasonable. Very sturdy and good quality.

I had high hopes for this item as I was going to use it to transport a portable dog playpen on the back of my travel trailer for camping trips. We took off for a 30 day road trip and in less than a mile the bolts holding the rack in the transport position sheared - dumping $500+ of playpen on the road behind us. Fortunately, no one behind us was injured, but I will have to replace the dog playpen due to damages. It was an awful experience, but I suppose I’m glad the failure happened before we got too far from home or onto a less forgiving road. I don’t normally leave poor reviews, but I figured it would be irresponsible not to share this experience with prospective buyers. Maybe my unit was defective or maybe the advertised weight capacity isn’t conservative enough. Either way, I cannot recommend this item for usage anywhere near its advertised weight capacity.

Hardware is of poor quality.The split ring washers are almost wire like.The lock nut for the hinged hitch is a putty material not a nylalock.The hinge bolt stripped with minimal tightening.The wire mesh on the base of the carrier is thin and flimsyAnticipate this lasting one/two years

just got this 2 days ago. Easy to put together. The one test I did worked great. going to add some lights to it. should be good
