Hand Crank Nutcracker Tool for Hazelnuts, Soft Shell Pecans, Pistachios and Filbert Nuts, Brazil Nuts - All Steel, Portable and Adjustable

Bought this for my MIL for pecan cracking. It just destroys the pecans and all their meat. Not worth it.

it dose what it needs to do and cracks nuts, it takes a bit to get but its easy enough to use.

Was trying to shell pecans and it had trouble handling them. Had to make several adjustments and run them through multiple times to get it to work. At that point the nuts were over crushed or not cracked enough to harvest the heart.

We were really hoping this nutcracker would solve a problem for us. We grow almonds in our home orchard, and this particular kind -- "Hardy almonds" -- do produce your classic tough-nuts-to-crack. This machine can't do the job, but we thought to be fair, we'd try it with some of the assorted in-the-shell nuts left over from Christmas. It did work better on those, but the machine did fire out bits of shell out the top. It also dumped everything else -- broken shells and (often broken) nuts -- from the chute at the base. There is a knob to adjust the width in the grinder/cracker, but still, the whole thing is a messy (and loud) process. On the plus size, the cracker is reasonably heavy duty metal. To be fair, most "normal" one-by-one nutcrackers don't do a very good job on our Hardy Almonds either. In fact, after trying numerous devices, the things that ended up working best for us were a couple of long-handled vice grips -- the kind of tools you buy at a hardware store. They are heavy duty, the teeth of the pliers are curved on both sides to give a good grip on the nut, and you can set the position of the vice so that it does not crush the nuts in the shell. Also, the vice grips were only $14 each. So while this hand-crank nutcracker is a good idea, it did not work for us and back it went for a refund.

Cheap and shoddy workmanship. Legs are welded so it cannot sit flat. I tried to run a small pecan thru it and no matter the setting, it jammed. Didn't even arrive in a box. Just plastic wrap. Don't waste your money. There is a better one on Amazon that I bought and it is 10 times better built.

We got out nutcracker the other day. Did not know that there were other colors than gray but that is if. Would have liked red. Not as big as the picture makes it out but I did not read the size of the hopper. Takes a bit to figure out how far to turn the screw for the nuts to crack just right. Much better than doing it by had which was what I was doing 16 pounds. It was going very slow but now it is the picking out that is slow. Glad that I found this.

I like how easy it is to use. It does a good job but not fond of how it cracks them on the sides. You have to adjust it just right otherwise it cracks it in half or shreds the nut completely.

this product does not work on my walnuts. On the rare occassion it does crack a nut, Metal pieces flake off and mix with the cracked nut.

Almost useless

Dieser "Nussknacker" taugt aber auch wirklich überhaupt nichts. Schlecht verarbeitet. lässt sich sogar leer nur sehr schwer drehen (vermutlich Metall-Späne durch die schlechte Verarbeitung in den Lagern), Griffstück der Kurbel hat scharfe Kanten. dieses Teil ist nicht zu empfehlen
