Very Well Crafted, Very Small.
The OutdoorMaster Ski Backpack, Snowboard Travel Backpack is a thoughtfully designed, well crafted, and eye pleasing pack. The choice of fabric colors, textures, and types creates an appealing rugged look. The overall construction and stitching is very good. A number of features help expand the function and comfort of the pack including: 1) adjustable shoulder, waist, and chest straps; 2) compression straps on the front and sides of the pack; 3) stabilizer straps at the top of the shoulder straps; 4) a soft lined pocket for goggles or glasses; 5) a lightly padded divider on the inner, main compartment that creates a space for a tablet or water bladder; 6) colorful, easy to see extended zipper pulls; 7) exterior mesh side pockets for a water bottle, gloves, or ski poles; 8) an emergency whistle on the chest clip; 9) small open mesh pockets for a snack on the waist strap; 10) lightly padded waist and shoulder straps; 11) air-flow channel on the back of the pack; and 12) an integrated, durable, stretch pouch to store your helmet or jacket, stored in a zippered compartment on the bottom of the bag. A lot of great features in such a little pack.Being an avid outdoors person (skiing and boarding, snow shoeing, hiking and backpacking, cycling, paddling, and more), I own a host of different styles and sizes of packs and bags. While most can be used for general hiking, or simply carrying gear across town, many of them are designed to excel in a certain area (or activity). The OutdoorMaster is toted as aski and snowboard backpack first, then a camping and hiking pack. I will note, I ordered the 12L bag which is simply too small for me (I am 5'10", 195lbs, 32" waist); it is the same size (or barely larger than) most of my hydration packs. The length is short for my torso and places the waist strap about mid-abdomen. I would guess that the 12L would best serve smaller folks, no taller than 5'4"-5'6".Although well designed (asthetically, functionally, and in regards to durability) the OutdoorMaster Ski Backpack does have a few shortcomings, and lacks a few basic features commonly found on packs of similar purpose and price point to that of the OutdoorMaster. Some of the features I expected to find and/or would have liked include: 1) a gasketed exit point for a hydration tube, and a tube clip on the shoulder strap (also a strap or hook on the top inside of the bag to hang the bladder); 2) quick release compression straps on the front of the pack to allow for quicker, easier access to the main compartment(the slide clips on each are very difficult to remove, especially when hands are cold and or gloved); 3) more durable zippered - or at least velcro closed- pockets on the waist strap. The open mesh pockets are too small and too weak to successfully hold (not loose) things, especially in a fall; and 4) a central web daisy chain to attach other small items.Despite what I list as short comings, I still like the overall appearance, design, construction quality, and function of the OutdoorMaster Ski Backpack. I just wish I had ordered the 22L instead.

Right sized backpack for backcountry skiing
I find this 22L size perfect for me. Enough for daytrip extras while I am skinning to the top of a mountain, swap clothes and ski down. It has easy to grab zippers, even with mitts. Besides a big interior general space for jackets etc, there is a small fleece lined pocket at top for glasses, phone etc. There is a thin section that is against the back padding, which I am not sure of its purpose. Looks like for a tablet, but who takes a tablet on hikes, skiing etc?Only thing I don't like is the method to attach skis or snowboard. Clips are awkward and not easy to use. Not many will use that feature though.

Great bag for Skiing!
I was really surprised at the quality of this bag! The materials are thicker and feel more durable than cheaper bags. There's a semi-rigid back support to provide some structure and help keep the bag in place. The large zipper pulls are easy to maneuver with gloves on. The bag is quite low profile and assuming you don't fill it up and there's no problem keeping it on while riding the lifts.I used the chest clip a few times and the waist band once but most of the time I just wore it with the should straps - which was no problem. I was able to shove an extra (thin) top and bottom layer in the bag along with keys, wallet, action camera and attachments (stick, clamp, clips, etc) as well as a couple granola bars. That amount of gear fit fine with plenty of room to spare. There were a couple things I didn't love about the bag. The clips feel a little cheap. I didn't have an issue or anything - although I also didn't use them much. The ski straps also seem a bit lighter-duty than the rest of the bag. I didn't have to transport my skis long distance so no issues - but could see these being the first thing that breaks. The helmet netting did seem to be pretty strong and thick compared to cheaper bags. The downside is that I don't really need that netting and while it stows away neatly at the bottom of the bag it's not removable and does take up some space.None of these concerns were enough to take away a start, though, and this is an awesome bag that I expect to use for quite a few season!

Small, but very well-made backpack
I tested out this pack over two days of skiing at Keystone and Breckenridge and really put it through its paces, seeing if I wanted to keep using it. I previously had been using a regular backpack and I'm still not totally sure what makes this pack specifically a ski/snowboard pack, other than some waterproof outer material and a small size that makes it lighter and easier to ski with. The small size is something I actually really like. It still holds everything I want to have with me when skiing - my extra goggle lenses, my wallet, car keys, extra wool cap and light gloves, a few snacks and a sandwich, and a water bottle in one of the outside pockets. With everything packed in, it is still nice and light. I didn't notice the weight at all when skiing. The water bottle pockets on the outside have a strap going around them that you can tighten down, securing the water bottle in case of a fall.Overall build and materials quality is EXCELLENT especially for the price. The zippers are secure and smooth operating. There is a soft-lined outer pocket for storing your phone. My only minor complaint is that there aren't any accessory pockets for keys, chapstick, sunscreen, smaller items like that - you have to just chuck everything into the big main pocket. It would've been nice to have an additional zippered pocket on the inside of the main compartment. However, even without that, there is a large amount of functionality with this small little bag, and I'm very pleased with this order. I plan to make this my main ski backpack going forward.
