Eco Dent Floss Gentle Mint 100yd3

I'm generally not impressed with the selection of dental floss alternatives available. When it came time to reorder floss I Googled 'the best dental floss in 2017' and found this. I thought it was priced kinda high but decided to try one pack anyway. I didn't thoroughly assess what I was getting...just glanced at a few reviews...therefore I was surprised and kind-of annoyed at the cardboard dispenser.But guess what? The cardboard I found annoying works really well! Even if my hands are slightly wet! The price is actually really low...because this dispenser contains over 3 times the typical amount of dental floss. The floss itself is excellent. I can't really pinpoint why...but after rereading other's reviews I think it's the 'getting below the gumline' factor that I like. I've been having some gum issues and am trying to be diligent about good oral hygiene. This floss just works much better than anything else I've tried...and I'm really picky!The floss itself just seems like simple, relatively thin floss. I'm usually a fan of much wider products like Glide's tape. But the way this works is incredible. It's easy for me to work with too. I'm a complete klutz who used to find the logistics of flossing challenging. But using this product is easier for me than most I've tried. It doesn't wrap around my fingers so tightly that I begin to cut off the circulation after a few advances in length.I'm not a huge eco-fanatic...meaning I wouldn't have sought out a floss brand for those reasons...but the fact that it is eco-friendly and the favorite for people much more knowledgeable than myself on those topics can't be ignored either. It's a Win for me...a Win for our budget...and a Win for the environment!

Full disclosure: the floss boxes came in a plastic ziploc baggie, and the actual spool of floss is wrapped in a plastic wrapper (also the spool is plastic). I thought there would be ZERO plastic, but there is some. Still, it is the least amount of harm done! And that is saying something.The box was easy to put together and I haven't had issues with it falling apart or anything. Just as easy as any other floss to measure some off and use the little metal edge to cut it. The top flap is perforated so that you can rip it off. It's annoying to keep it on while using it.The floss is lightly waxed, and there is a tinge of mint. Not as much mint as Oral-B proglide, but it is there. This floss is true floss, not a tape. The floss is strong and I have yet to break it. Occasionally I fray a segment in a tough section, but I never get loose fibers stuck in my teeth like I do with some other brands. The floss is not too smooth, so it works better than tapes at actually catching food between your teeth rather than just sliding over it.My favorite thing about this floss is that it has 100 yards per box! That's like double or triple some other brands, which also cost more. By far this is the cheapest option. And for a floss so good, it's a no-brainer.

The only reason it gets 4 stars from me, as I have very sensitive gum lines and tight teeth so I shred this floss. I need a huge piece to be able to get a smooth floss jobs every couple of teeth. But. That being said they're virtually plastic free (minus what ever laminate they use on the container and ink/paint) which was the goal of this purchase.

The floss its self is excellent.While some of the packaging and floss is biodegradable, the wheel the floss is spun on is plastic. And the paper box wants to disintegrate about half way through its full use. It definitely seems the glass jars with bamboo floss are the wave of the future.

My new favorite floss. The floss works great. The box is eco friendly and can be recycled. What I've noticed though is that this has lasted me and my wife over two months. I didn't realized how long 100 yards of floss would last us and I'm not sure how many yards came in the over priced products we have been purchasing. This is my go to floss from now on.

Wife loves it, I hate it. It gets caught in my teeth the the point I hope it doesnt rip out a filling or chunk of tooth. It also frays in tight spaces where i had to floss out a stand of floss stuck in between teeth

lasts forever, tough, good materials, nice packaging, good price, couldn't get any better
