I love organizing and have had issues finding adequate, practical storage for my makeup, skin and hair care products for years. This was one of a few units on my "wishlist" and back in July of 2018 it was bought as a gift for my birthday. I was absolutely elated at the unexpected purchase and immediately began trying out different ways to put various products away. The photos are in collage form but were all taken back when I originally opened it so I can update with new photos when I remember. The train case / unit arrived in a large box and had no obvious defects. There is a larger empty "box" at the bottom with a felt tray that can sit on top and hold smaller items and from here you can close it with one of the metal lids or you can use the sides to "lock" the detachable train case on top. I generally keep it all as one unit and remove the layers if I need something from the bottom bin. There is a fixed, adjustable handle on the back side as well as detachable wheels that make it easier to move or even pack for travel. The unit comes with two sets of small keys so it can be locked- but they aren't secure, sophisticated keys so don't count on it for storing valuables. Both the train case and the mid-level flat have fitted pieces covered in a black material that can be adjusted for customizing the compartment sizes. In reality, the bottom bin is awkward if you aren't a hair stylist or looking to store larger items because it is just a deep box. I have used it to store palettes I don't use often, replacement mirrors and the extra wheels/felt pieces; I might open it once a month. The second level isn't tall enough for new eyeliners or brushes and being slightly cumbersome to get in I keep various glitters, eyelashes and other items I want protected by the metal walls but that I don't use on a weekly basis. Lastly, the top tri-level case is like most others. There is a top handle but mine broke after less than a year and as I am saying I don't use it for every day makeup so it probably would've snapped earlier. The top opens and the sides fold outward and upward on either side. I wish there was more room between the levels so I could stack more than one shadow e.g. MAC or Colourpop shadows can't fit on top of one another or laid on their sides. The bottom of the top case is empty and I store lots of smaller palettes, sprays (e.g. brush cleaners, setting sprays), adhesives and items I received with purchases that I don't use or need to get out etc. I realize this is a long review but for many of us every dollar counts and when I was looking at these there weren't a lot of reviews with descriptions to help discern which style would have been better for a "makeup addict," who doesn't really use half the products regularly. Lastly, there is a black strap for carrying the train case on it's own but when I tried it always caused it to slip to one side or the other and wasn't comfortable. I wasn't expecting a medium, metal box of makeup to be a kushy bag but it wasn't stable and would hit the walls or make walking in heels difficult. I am not sure but I think the attaching and detaching from the unit is what caused thes side locks to loosen and the sides have since curved somewhat inwardly. Sadly this has become more of a corner furniture piece that stores some products but I've still bought numerous types of makeup cases, bags and packs for my daily and weekly products. This would be ideal for someone newer in their collection, someone who works in the industry and can keep it in a central location, anyone who lives the colour pink and has items to store that don't need daily access and so on. It isn't an awful item by any means and I rated everything 4 of 5 because everyone's needs are different and I can still remember the excitement of getting this surprise on my birthday!

The package arrived early and was not damaged. The case was in excellent/new condition when I took it out of the box. All of the components were there. The wheels were easy to assemble onto the case, and roll smoothly. The two lids make it possible to use this as two separate cases! My only issue is that my case does not lock. I got several keys, but the locks don’t work. I needed to use it for an event, so I did not have time to return it for a new one. Despite not locking, I give this case 4 stars. I would have definitely rated this case 5 stars if my Locks worked.
