The base of the lamp is actually closer to brass. It is not the look I was going for so i spray painted it black. Came out perfect!It was fairly easy to install. Directions were not super clear but I was able to do it.The light that comes with it is ridiculously bright, so I bought another one at Home Depot. Very important to note that while the base of the light is standard the opening of the fixture is SMALL so if you get a diff light it has to be skinny. It took a tiny bit of shimmying to make sure I had all the screws in correctly and the glass part secure. But I got it. The shadows are soooo pretty. It’s perfect for my little entryway.

I'm over the moon about this light! It was relatively easy to install, everything was in one piece and worked great, and it looks absolutely beautiful in our front entry way! My only qualm is that the base that attaches the light to the ceiling, is NOT black. It looks black in the pictures but it is definitely this kind of golden/bronze color with what looks like some lazy person swiped black paint on it but gave up. We intend to paint it so it's black, but otherwise great purchase! Lets off A LOT of light, works with our dimmer, is a good size enough to where it doesn't hang so low as anyone to hit their head on it.

The finish on the star is black but the caps are a brushed bronze look. Very different to screw the cap on the ceiling. The screws seems to be a little short but finally got it. Looks great but the bulb it came with is super bright cool temp light.

This little star light is the perfect entry way light. It was easy to install. I will say I agree with other reviewers. The bulb that comes with off is SUPER bright. I bought some warm white led bulbs, and they are perfect. You need candelabra bulbs with an E26 fitting. As the opening is too small for a standard bulb.

I was a little disappointed to see the goldish-black finish on the base when I unpacked the lamp, but the picture does show it that way and the bars between the glass were black so I kept it. I got a can of black spray paint and fixed the part I didn’t like. We installed the lamp and it was pretty standard lamp installation. But the light - it’s so much brighter than I expected and looks so pretty against the ceiling. It’s really really pretty. I’m completely thrilled with it. We put it in a hallway - would it be enough light for a room? Maybe. But it’s lovely.

The "globe" itself is really pretty and exactly as I expected. The ceiling mount is really thin, flimsy, has a sloppy faux finished painted on it, and has a slightly smaller diameter than the standard hole cut in the ceiling. The worst part is the mounting screws are too short, and it's compounded by the fact that they loosen up anytime you try to attach the mounting caps to them. There COULD be an element of user error in my troubles, but unfortunately this fixture doesn't come with instructions, so I can't say for sure. The bulb is very blue as others have indicated.The only reason I'm not returning it is because the finished installation looked just fine where I placed it in my house. Also, this fixture cost half as much as the same fixture at Lowe's, so the extra time and minor rigging I had to do to make it work are worth the savings for me personally.

Absolutely beautiful and great accent piece, good quality for the price! Like that you are able to adjust how high or low it will hang.Works with a dimmable light switch.

After I moved I decided I had to have this on my next front porch, too. Love it.

I love how this star pendant fixture looks in my home! But note that the light it gives off is not bright; it's more of an ambient/mood light that casts interesting shadows on my ceiling (we used the max watt bulb that's indicated on the fixture). There are so many little glass panels (to create the star), so cleaning the outside is a pain (hence it doesn't get cleaned that often...). There's a small hinged 'door' on one of the panels that opens so the bulb can be changed. We don't even attempt to clean the inside of the star - it's nearly impossible! Overall, quite happy with our purchase - it's the look/style we want.

It seems like an old installation style. It was truly a giant pain in the butt to install. Screws came with gunk on them and turned the wrong ways so had to force nuts off with a wrench. Really took way longer than it should have. The light bulb is not bright at all, which is easy enough to replace. Replacing the light bulb is a huge pain.

This is absolutely adorable fixture, but be aware the quality is not great- once it’s up it’s not really noticeable, but the installation required different parts than provided for our purpose and we weren’t sure the light was going to survive installation in one piece.

This light is in a walkin closet; cool little funky light. It provides lots of light and out of the way. Absolutely perfect!
