Good For The Money!!!
When I bought this I didn't know whether it would work on PS3 because I didn't know the PS2 and PS3 had the same slot (they do!) So I just risked it. It was worth the risk, plays in full 1080p HD on my PS3! There is some purpleish outline to writing and on Uncharted (only game I've tried) the main character has the purple outline on his right arm but apart from that its great! One other thing I came across was the red connectors felt loose when I plugged them in but they work fine!Defiantly a bargain buy for the quality! Would recommend!

Got a faulty one
Ok, like a lot of other people I am a bit lazy when writing reviews and tend only to do one when a product is either unexpectedly good, or falls way short of the mark. Unfortunately, this time it is the latter.Having read the previous reviews, I was careful to make sure I changed the output in the PS2 menu settings from RGB to component, and after a bit of fiddling around (these leads are NOT well colour co-ordinated), I managed to get the correct order into my sockets. However, the picture is even worse than with RGB. There is a diagonal grainy effect that looks like the kind of thing you might get if there's a loose connection. Well, there's certainly no problem with the input sockets on my TV because other products work fine, or with the output on the PS2, so I think I have been unlucky enough to get a faulty product. [Haven't tried it on a PS3 as I don't have one.]Can't be arsed trying to get a refund for this price - I'll try a different product. Given the mostly positive previous reviews for this product you will probably be ok, but thought you should be aware that not every product issued is of acceptable standard. Would be surprising if they were at this price.

A must have for any PS2 owner
I have been looking into upgrading the graphics of my PS2 for a while and after some reading on the subject, decided to buy a few cheap cables and see for myself...I tested the console on my Samsung 32inch Full HDTV (UE32F5000) using the supplied composite lead (red/white/yellow) and a scart cable I bought online for the PS2. Both the scart and composite cable had very similar graphic output with dull colours and blurred edges.I then tried this component cable (green/blue/red/white/red) and the difference was substantial. The graphics are much clearer, with a defined outline during game play, colours are more vivid and text is sharper. I can honestly say that a component cable is a must have for anyone with a PS2.As for the cable itself, it is fairly well built and is a real bargain for the £3.99 price tag. The only issue was after a while the colour bands on the plugs became loose and would have easily dropped off if I hadn't noticed so I would suggest sellotaping them on when you first get the cable to avoid future issues. If you do purchase a set of component cables, remember to change the PS2 display settings to component before removing your old cable. If you don't do this first you may see a blank screen, meaning you'll have to put the old cables back in to choose the correct PS2 settings for your new cables.

Better than expected
With the supplied picture I was expecting something cheap and cheerful, but based on reviews, good enough to do the job.First the reason to go component for a retro console. When I bought my PS2 back in the day, like most people I had an old 26" CRT TV, which looked fine no matter what cable I used. Unfortunately (depending on how you look at it) I'm now running a 50" 1080p plasma, and it looks terrible on the composite cable that comes with the PS2. Its not because the console is old, but that modern TV's are not designed to compensate for low quality feeds. Your left with 2 options in terms of improving the quality, S-Video which is a bit better, but most TV's don't support, or component which not only carries the highest quality signal due to splitting the colours into individual feeds, but is also still supported by most TV's, even LED screens have a dongle that can support this connection type. The cable itself that I received is of a much higher build quality than the cable pictured, which I am accustomed to being the other way around! good heavy moulded plastic plugs, and just as important, well insulated cable as it is running along side quite a few other cables and this has cut any potential interference issues. For the price its perfect!

Good quality cable
Good quality cable. Works well with my Ps2. Cables are very thin when it splits into its components so durability may be a problem in future. But so far no problems. Good price and delivery.

Does exactly as described.
On the PS2 I Ran GT 4 in 1080i as well as many others in 480p. Works perfectly, can't say anything bad about it!

For this price you can't go wrong
Having read a few different reviews of these cables which all do the same thing I opted for this one.I bought the cable having just picked up a second hand Playstation 2 Slim, having a modern HDTV I decided this would be the best way to go. Have to say the improvement over Composite is night and day colours are a lot more vivid and it's far less hazy. The only criticism if any is that the image for the product does not match what arrived in the post but at the end of the day it does what it says on the tin, Recommended!!!!

Component Cable for SONY Playstation
I am using this Component cable to connect my Sony HD TV to my Sony PS2. The definition is very good and is showing up as 576i. I hear it is possible to get 1080i for certain games by pressing the Triangle and X button but I haven't tried this yet. It works good for DVD's and games. The product arrived quickly and the connections connect as it should.See link for HD support[...]
