Fantastic, Useful, Accurate, Compact and Rugged Device
Brilliant little tool, very handy, especially on longer distances where a tape measure becomes more difficult to use. As you can see from the pictures it's very accurate, especially with the level angle readout as you can be sure you are perfectly level. The device itself is nice and compact, comfortable to hold, buttons are easy to press and the screen is easy to see. Appears reasonably rugged, I test dropped it onto concrete a couple of times and no marks on it at all.I highly recommend reading the short and simple instructions if you want to use any of the different modes, not complicated to work out but makes it much easier to understand. The extra modes are actually quite handy for quite a wide range of applications, you can even use it to add different measurements up for area floor plans and the like.Overall, an absolutely brilliant little device, I can't fault it at all, only wish I had got one sooner.

A Good Buy for Light Usage
This unbranded Chinese laser measure sells at around 1/3 the cost of a high-end branded trade tool, so how does it measure up (if you'll forgive the pun)?+ PERFORMANCE: Accuracy seems good - I've measured a number of items of known length and the results were within the claimed margin of error.+ FEATURES: more than most DIY users will ever need - they are well covered in the listing so I won't repeat them here.+ QUALITY: robustness is a step down from a true trade tool - though it should be fine for occasional DIY use. The LED screen is large, bright and legible.+ USABILITY: the manual is clear but basic - it doesn't cover all the knowledge you'll need to get the most from a laser measure. YouTube is your friend here - plenty of good advice online. Judging by the reviews one source of confusion is the point that it measures from. By default, this is from the back of the unit, but you can use the datum button to switch this to the front. The current status is displayed on the screen. At this modest price point, you're getting accuracy and features that compare well to a professional unit. All you're sacrificing is a little toughness. So for typical DIY applications, this is a 5 star buy.

Good value for money for general DIY tasks
This laser measurer is very accurate, but you need to realise that the distance is measured from the back of the unit itself not the front. This is shown on the display but I thought it worth mentioning here also. It is very easy to use and faster than a tape measure. I personally like the accuracy this brings. It has a lot of other features that I haven’t had time to explore yet. It has a nice, clear large backlit screen.

Make sure to read reviews.
I highly recommend reading the other reviews on here before starting to use this as they really avoid spending unnecessary time on troubleshooting. We used this to help with putting down laminate flooring and found it to be just as accurate as other tools but so much easier to use once you know how. Built well and good quality which should hopefully last. Fair price as well.

Faulty screen
Took this out the box and the screen lit up like this. Not great, disappointed with this and there is no way to contact the seller.

Superb device, amazing value, 100% recommendation
I have wanted an LDM (Laser Distance Measurement) device for a long time but couldn't really justify the high cost. Of course, like most things the price eventually comes down but all too often, so does the quality. Well, not in this case. This device is not only inexpensive, it has every feature I could ever need and is packaged in a robust case (IP54 rated for dust and moisture), with an excellent inverse LCD display that is crisp, bright and clear. There are many modes and not all laser based. An inclinometer continuously reads out the angle of the device to the ground, so you can measure the slope of, say a stair railing. Then, by pointing the red laser dot at a surface with enough reflectivity you can measure the distance from the LDM to the surface with an accuracy of +/-2mm. Of course, there are more useful modes than simple distance measurements. For example by following the prompts you can take a series of measurements to calculate the Area or Volume of a space. Very useful for planning carpet or HVAC work perhaps. The device can also add and subtract a series of measurements, if say you don't have a single line of sight to the distance you need.My favorite modes are the Pythagorean modes and these appeal to the geometry geek in me. Pythagoras taught us that by knowing two sides of a right angle triangle we can calculate the third. Using basic high school math we could measure the height of a wall by measuring horizontal distance to the base of the wall and then the diagonal distance to the top. Sure enough the LDM can talk us through this. . Now imagine a 2 story home with a hallway that extends from the ground to the roof. You are standing on a first floor balcony and need to make the same measurement... how do you do that if you are not on the ground floor? The answer? Perform a double Pythagorean calculation... That's another mode of this device and it walks you through the steps. If I sound enthusiastic, I am. This is an excellent little device and I recommend it 100%.Documentation is in several languages and is clear if brief. The device comes with batteries, a lanyard and a carry case. It has a 99 deep memory of past measurements and is very simple to operate once you use it a few times. Packaging is simple, mostly recyclable cardboard, just one plastic insert.

I love this thing!
I love this thing! This is my first laser measure, and am highly impressed with this. The accuracy when compared to a tape measure was about spot on, within 1/16 - 2/16ths of an inch difference, and that might have been variation from the user, not the tool. Impressive. This comes with some nice and handy accessories as well, included are a wrist strap (which I don't care about), but also a carry case and reflective card. The case is very handy since you can store the reflective card in the case with the laser measure, so it doesn't get lost. The laser measure is smaller than I expected, which is nice, and the screen size does not suffer at all, nice large display for a unit this size. The reflective card is very handy for measuring things that don't have an end for the laser to hit. You hold the laser measure on one side, and the reflective card on the other. An example would be if you were to measure a piece of paper, the laser measure would be on one side of the paper, but there's nothing to stop the laser at the other end of the paper. So this is where the reflective card comes in to play. You put the reflective card at the opposite end of the paper, and now the laser will stop at the card and be able to provide the measurement of the paper. The display on this laser measure is nice and large, plus it's nicely backlit. I also like the multiple readout format options it has. Being from the U.S., most measurements I take are in feet and inches. So I can set it to either give me the total inches, or what I prefer, set it to display XX ft, XX inches. This makes it super easy to get your measurements quickly.Another nice feature is being able to start the measurement from the front or back of the laser measure, and from my testing, both ways are just as accurate. It even has features I probably won't use, like the area and volume calculations and the pythagoras measuring, but it's nice that it's there for those who could use those features. Additionally, it can do length calculations, adding or subtracting two measurements, which is handy, as it is quicker than even having to think. The instruction manual doesn't have the most proper English, but it's not a big deal as everything is easy to understand, and it is thorough. For all the features, I think it is very fairly priced. I'll end this the way I started, I love this thing!
