Emergency & Critical Care Pocket Guide

This was the best pocket guide on the market that has a wealth of good information inside, it is still useful even though it is american based you can use it for the UK but be aware drugs shown are not all used in the UK. Great book,Great price two bought & looking at a third.

I lI've this item. Im a anxillary nurse and a student nurse and this is just perfect for both and can just about fit in my pocket. It's perfect!

I own every other edition of this very handy and helpful pocket guide. It is particularly useful for review and in critical care moments when a smart phone app or accessing online information is impractical (ie. at the bedside or in back of an ambulance during an arrest) . The recent updates are inline with current ACLS guidelines and the med / practice updates are particularly helpful. The paper quality lends itself to being cleaned / disinfected rather easily, which is a bonus for infection control purposes (ie. removing blood and body fluid). Cleaning a smart phone contaminated with blood and body fluid, on the other hand, is not. Highly recommended as a resource for medical / nursing staff and first responders / paramedics.

I've been an ER RN for ~5 years. I know my stuff pretty well, but every now and then you just need to quickly recall a number, or an EKG reciprocal change, or a drip reference. This book is great. It's conveniently sized, great page finish, durable, etc. I have used it many times already. I will say it's probably not ONE HUNDRED percent accurate, but it gets you in the range and gets you started. I am careful while using it in the hospital, r/t hospital policy compliance etc... but a great quick reference. Does not have as much information on critical drips as I was hoping for, either! Luckily, there's blank note pages in the back!
