Same old with something new
Yay - a new series! Although, not quite as strong as her previous books. I liked the new setting, the lead and the storyline. Melissa is hilarious and writes great banter (this gave her 4 instead of 3 stars). However, the characters all strike a resemblance to her previous 4 femme fatals from the Soho Loft Series. The uber perky, little one - the brooding, sporty beauty - the firey business minded red hair - and the slightly clumsy, has no idea they are gorgeous one. This is about the latter - Isabel and her move to LA. I liked it, I did, but I can only explain it as like Melissa previously giving you a fresh batch of donuts, all full of flavour and delight (Waiting in the Wings).... only to be then given a batch of end-of-day-reduced-price-donuts. I feel a little cheated, everything was a little predictable.

I am looking forward to more like this!
Eyes like those. Another winner from a consistently good author. I got a bit confused in the beginning with the new friends individual characters but look forward to their development in the rest of the series. Someone in another review mentioned there was no angst. It's all relative but I kept waiting for it all to go wrong - like one of the characters - which to me, means there was a good drawing that character. I was shocked when it did go wrong - like the other main character - again good drawing and didn't quite buy in that that decision would have been made BUT..... when that decision was explained through the voice of the character it totally made sense and in fact another decision would have felt fictional and not in a good way.

Fantastic
This is the first Melissa Brayden book I've purchased as I must admit being a K U member there's so many great reads in within the K U library, but the fact I'm always hearing great reviews regarding Melissa's books I had to try one for myself and boy I wasn't disappointed. Eyes like those is certainty one that stands out as a real feel read " I truly immersed myself from start to finish .After having read this one I'm sure Melissa's stories are going to become my regular treat.

Another winner from Melissa.
New characters. New setting. We meet a group of women in California. This story focuses on two television writers, Isobel, new to town and taking a gift wrapped opportunity and Taylor, already running her own show. We enjoy Isobel's new journey with making new friends, getting a job she loves and meeting the love of her life. Melissa writes some of the best dialogue between her characters giving each of them a very personal voice. Her style of writing always puts a smile on my face.

Brayden's back on top!
There are few writers who can match Melissa Brayden for smart, sassy and sweet dialogue and there's heaps of that in this! It's impossible not to warm to Isabel and Taylor as Brayden takes her usual time developing her characters so that you care as much about their trials and tribulations as they themselves do. And Istay/Taybel definitely have 'their issues' in this. Isabel with her insecurities and hang ups and Taylor being too tolerant of bad behaviour. Also a great set up for more since you know she's going to be telling us the stories of Isabel's new friends, Autumn, Hadley and Gia next...delicious!

Another cracker
This is another funny, sexy and just downright good book from an author that is on my must buy list. The story also hints at future friends to also find their way to love and I looks forward to reading those too.If I had one minor feedback for the author it’s to also do a few more like waiting in the wings. I love the comedy in these but occasionally it’s a bit too much. Write both types please!

So good I'm already ready for the next in the series!
I love Melissa Brayden and this was exciting for me because I can't wait for another solid series...from what I've read this is a dead cert. The end got a bit sappy for my tastes but the novel as a whole was a brilliant read that left me feeling warm, fuzzy and eager to see what will happen that beautiful group of friends.
