I bought this for a very large kitten cage. It installed onto the bars super easily. The little beasties have loved it and it's held up well to fairly regular kitten abuse. The sisal is fraying after 2 months, but it's sisal. It does that and it's incredibly easy to replace yourself with a good, non-toxic glue and a roll from Home Depot. My only gripe? A single bolt in my initial purchase was improperly threaded. I found no quick and obvious way to simply request a replacement. It would be super if Amazon could add a "part incorrect/missing" option to their "need help?" order menu. Alternately, the manufacturer could provide a way to request replacement parts via a slip of paper inside the box. Fortunately, it was only 1 of 4 corners, so I was able to install without and it's held firm against the little ones.

My cat loves this a lot and after over two months it still looks new. I tried over scratching items and my cat….. destroyed them fast and so I didn’t have much hope for this but I’m impressed. Very well made with metal pieces that hold it tight to the cage wall.

Scratching is natural for cats. It is necessary for their general health, and to keep their nails sharp for self defense, eating, and for climbing. Broken, misshapen, and unkempt nails can cause a variety of infections and illnesses for a cat.I ordered two of these mounted scratch posts by Lohome to use inside of playpens that I had also ordered the same day. I have need to kennel my cats for short periods of time. I have my own cats, and I occasionally foster as well. The cats need to scratch and climb, even while kenneled. I was glad to have found these on Amazon. This scratch post is perfect.It is an excellent quality scratch post. I was very impressed. It is a solid construction, the sisal is durable, and the hardware isn't cheap crap, but it is also a very high quality material. It is very easily mounted to the inside of a standard crate, of any length or width.I waited several months before posting a review because I was concerned about durability - but these scratch posts can hold up to several cats using them, daily. I plan to purchase more in the future.

I love it more than the kittens do at this point, but I am sure they will discover its usefulness as readily as they took to scratching and climbing my couch. I got this specifically so it could be mounted in the cat cage- er... Play Pen that I purchased to contain the two little demon fluffs safely while I am at work. I positioned it so they can not only get a good stretch and scratch in... but also so they can climb it as easily as they do my curtains and furniture to get to the up to their plush beds and hammock.It installed on the side of the pen so easily I was almost disappointed. No challenge, no getting crafty to make it work?? Just boom, right out of the box success?? Wow!! Purrrfect! (Oh come on... you know I had to use the purr pun. It's a cat accessory!) It's good and stout and well made. The mounting brackets are made of a decent gauge steel and the hardware was no nonsense. It's much more heavy duty than the side of the pen it's attached to and came with better mounting hardware than my over the stove microwave. Go figure.

I rescued a feral kitten and kept him in a kennel while he got used to being around me and was slowly introduced to my cat. I wanted to keep him happy and occupied so I got him some balls and catnip toys and this scratch post. It was easy to install and just the right size to fit in the corner of the kennel but large and sturdy enough for my kitten to pounce on and climb. He loved this scratch post so much. I never could figure out if it was real sisal rope or a synthetic substitute, but whatever it was the cat loved it. I'd recommend it for anyone whose cats need to spend time in kennels.

Our last one we ordered made it to about a year with our girl, finally had to get a new one and after trying out another brand for a few months with no real luck, we had to come back to this one. Our Regina didn’t like the other as much and the moment we installed this one, she went to town. Highly recommend if you have a scratchy kitty and one who loves to claw things when they have the zoomies.

We have a large cage to keep the cats (3) in when we aren't home - the kittens were getting into trouble. We bought this to add to the cage for their comfort. Well, it is a HUGE hit! The cats use it a few times a day when they aren't contained. It has been installed for a couple months and is standing up well to the heavy use. The dimensions are: 3" diameter and it is 14" long. It was very easy to install.
