If you can find camping glowsticks for less than a dollar apiece, it's a decent deal. I use them for marking tent stakes, but I usually have to pick them up at the dollar store if I can find them. The advantage of getting them on Amazon is the convenience, and these seem pretty good, especially since mine came with a bonus Emergency Blanket, which I'm almost more excited about. I always like to keep those on hand in my survival gear and disaster response bags, and can testify to their usefulness---I took some up to the Arctic Circle, where it was -35 degrees, and managed to insulate my tent enough with mylar blankets.While I obviously haven't opened every glowstick, I can say that the thick foil pouches seem intact and are free of holes, which might indicate accidental activation, rendering the glowstick useless. Also, if you've never used a glowstick before, the instructions are printed in a surprisingly clear manner on the thick foil.

There are exactly what I was looking for. I have been putting together a little survival kit. I will put some in my car and some for camping. It came with a blanket too which is great because I will not have to buy it separate. The blanket is very nicely folded so it does not take a lot of space and the sticks are each wrapped.
