Get 4", not 2"!2" made a small improvement to my futon mattress but 4" is much more comfortable.If you're not sure, get 2", then fold it in half and see if you prefer 4". Then if you like 4", just buy another 2" and you have a full size 4". (I guess this trick might only work if you get a double or king size, basically big enough to fold in half and still sleep on)The memory effect only lasts for about a second if you press it by hand, but when your body sinks into it then you get the memory effect, it's MUCH more comfortable than normal foam.(UPDATE: I bought a memory foam topper from "Southern Foam" on Amazon, and that one IS real memory foam that leave the shape of your hand, etc. as for comfort between them, I think I prefer the Southern, but I really liked both.)No bad small at all and was ready to use in a few hours.It made my old futon super comfortable.One of the best purchases I've made. I can sleep like a baby again! (Also recommended: Ear plugs, as long as you are in a safe place where there is no risk that you won't hear important things like a fire alarm!)Very breathable.Update: Several months later, still great.

This mattress topper is not 2 inches thick, but 1.5 inches thick, when it has been left to fully expand over several days. Also it could do with being a couple of inches longer to fit a double bed properly. I am NOT sure as to "memory foam" description since it DOES NOT seem to retain a hand print for very long and springs back into shape very quickly, much quicker than my previous memory foam mattress.Also as might be expected (or not) the foam exudes a strong chemical odour, which hopefully will disappear with time (leave the window open to help).The supplier was very efficient (Memory Foam Warehouse) at getting the mattress topper delivered the next day ( a Saturday) at an additional cost - so many thanks to them for that.Overall, it is comfortable to sleep on, provided you have a good sub structure - it will not compensate for having a worn out mattress beneath it.There is no indication as to whether this foam meets current legislation for being fire retardant - which in strongly feel is a serious over sight of the supplier.I have given four stars, since I feel that the description should be amended to reflect the true thickness of this mattress topper.

I bought this as a last ditch quick-fix effort with a view to trying to save money on buying a new mattress. Our existing mattress is very old and seemed a likely cause (or at very least a contributing factor) of some stubborn long term lower back pain. I was also regularly waking to total arm numbness, which was becoming a bit of a worry and quite alarming at times. I can say with relative certainty that the memory foam mattress topper provided a much more comfortable night's sleep and I would certainly recommend it as an option, and my wife has been much happier with it than I have. It's worth mentioning that it is very small when it arrives in the post, as it is tightly rolled and not too heavy. I was a little put off when I first unwrapped it as it did look rather cheap and smelled somewhat chemically, though we slept on it the night it arrived and the smell didn't keep me awake or spoil my sleep, and it disappeared after two to three days.In short, I'm not head-over-heels in love with this product and it has not got rid of all my aches and pains, but it's given our tired old mattress a new lease of life whilst we weigh up forking out megabucks for a new mattress.

Bought it to line my dog's beds and it does the job well. Easy to cut with scissors. Got enough to do 3 large beds, plus a couple of smaller cat beds. My dog has bad hips and it definitely seems to make her a bit more comfortable. It does have a bit of a rubbery smell when it first arrived but I can no longer smell it. The only problem is, my mum's dog (who is obsessed with rubbery things) can obviously still smell something and likes to rip chunks out of it. A cover would resolve the problem.

After suffering from backache from my mattress I decided to buy a memory foam, after reading the reviews I decided to go along and buy it. It's really comfy, you just sink in it and my backache has now disappeared. Only problem is I need new pillows now as my current ones now resemble a concrete block. Think I forgot what comfort was. I would of given it 5 stars but it was really smelly even after airing out near with the window open for 48hrs. The smell has not faded but it shouldn't smell in the first place.

When the topper arrived it had been vacuum packed so when you open it it is squashed flat with a ridge down the fold. If you leave it lives up to its name - memory foam - and reforms. The smell is an issue. We left the topper out for a week hoping that the smell would improve. It did a bit but even now a few weeks on you still notice it when you walk into the bedroom. On terms of comfort it us great and you do feel like you are on a bed of feathers. If you can bare the smell then go for it

we have the orthopedic bed that is one of the most uncomfortable beds that anyone could buy and my husband has been struggling with his back pain and stopped sleeping on it instead he sleeps on the sofa bed that we already have. We needed to find a fast solution that is on budget and I thought of giving it a try and buy one of those toppers, i took a look at the review which are all good and ordered one. We received it yesterday and it has transformed the orthopedic bed to a much better bed or to normal comfortable bed than a person deserve to lie on after a long hard day! Also, the bed now feels better as i used to hear these noises of the bed when my husband move but now all the noise has gone.

The mattress topper arrived super speedily, about 4 days after I ordered it. It is nice and comfy, however it was a struggle to open the packaging, and you really need to leave it a few days to air as it still has the factory smell on it when it first is unpacked. This is my second topper and the 45kg one is much firmer than my previous one.
