Abduzeedo Inspiration Guide for Designers Paperback – 19 May 2011

This book is glossy throughout and well polished in terms of presentation, clarity and legibility.Where it is let down is in its content. Much of the content feels only as strong as what the blog itself publishes which is released for free. The content could have been more in depth and curated more carefully.All in all, some nice pictures but a lack of depth.

It's strange to think that people can find inspiration in this book. Most of the information given about existing art forms (eg abstract art) is somehow wrong, incomplete or misleading. The style exercices or tutorials or whatever you want to call them, are aimed at just copying an existing design. no attempt is made to explain to people what they're actually doing, what the idea behind such a design is, or what the different buttons & options in photoshop actually achieve.If you're looking for material that can boost you own creativity and give you a deeper understanding, then this book is a complete waste of money.
