There are bright, clear pictures to help you understand what to do and ways in which to help children of ages 2-5, as well as how they develop at each age.Perfect if you are a stay at home parent and want to do things similar to what your child would be doing in a nursery. I really enjoyed this well written, easy to read and understand book and would like to point out that although primarily aimed at Mum's, Dad's can get a lot out of it as well. Some great ideas! Kay know her subject...or is that subjects!

I found this book really easy to read and is full of great ideas for youngsters and their grown-ups! I wish I'd had this as a reference book when I was a nursery school classroom assistant...it would have made planning so much easier!SC

I like to think of myself as someone with lots of ideas, but after raising a 6 & 4 year old with diverse needs I sometimes need extra ideas to make days more interesting. This book is full of these ideas and projects with developmental guides along the way. It engages the reader in a non-patronising way. I would highly recommend this book! I certainly will be referring to it regularly during this non-existent summer!!!!!! Thanks to the author for writing a book that fills a gap in this market!! Well done.

Next time my 2-year old grandson comes to visit I shall be well armed with Kay Woods' Art Projects. Instead of just giving him a few coloured pens and a sheet of paper to doodle on and keep him quiet, I shall be able to set him gentle tasks and look for specific pointers to his development. All grandparents will welcome this chance to help the little ones get going. It will also help us to keep up with them and their parents.

This book was given to me by a friend, but it is really not my thing. i hatethe way people are always trying to test young children and does it reallymatter at what age kids learn to write or count or stuff? Thhey learn atschool anyway, so why does it matter now. I get reports on all this from hisnursery sayin he needs to work on pen control and concentrating etc. He'sdoing fine! This sort of thing really annoys me because it just makesparents worry for no reason.

I really enjoyed doing the art projects in these books. I hav a 3 year old and a new one on the way and I am the sort of person who likes to read all about what to expect development-wise along the way. I always have done, I even read along month by month with my pregnancy! I think its interesting t learn about what Niamh should be achieving at her age and what I can expect in the years to come. The art projects are fun too.
