MS32LED Professional Tabletop Lightbox Photo Studio Kit with LED Lighting for Product Photography

I have recently begun photographing other artists jewelry and glass. It has been a real challenge. I had one of those portable fold up studio's and was not satisfied with the pictures. I thought maybe it was the lighting so tossed the ones that came with it and used my studio lights instead which helped a lot, but still not what I was looking for... THEN I found MyStudio!!! WOW. I was finally able to shoot the pieces the way they needed to be shot.I am one of those who thinks when all else fails read instructions so set about to setup stand/lights... Big mistake. MyStudio send you the BEST instructions AND a CD with a video to watch the installation!!! Once I used what they provided, I had the studio setup very quickly. They truly provide the best support, instruction and material to put together your studio. Holes are drilled correctly (no shimming required) and they send all the parts needed. You only need to provide a screw driver.As I watched their very helpful video on sample shots I noticed their backdrop in their studio. The first time I setup the studio I set it up in a room on a drafting table instead of in my actual studio. While they do not advise you to use a dark room with a dark backdrop behind their studio, it really makes a HUGE difference. So that would be my only advice to someone getting this. I moved MyStudio to my actual studio where the room is totally dark, setup the black backdrop and that was the final piece to producing the best pictures!I truly do love MyStudio. My clients are now VERY satisfied with my work and I expect to have new clients soon based on how well this is going.

I am a beginner in jewelry photography, learning how to take pictures of my products to enhance every minute detail. It was a challenge for me as i was always having shadows and blurry pictures cos i was using natural daylight (sun) but it wasnt so bright and the stones were always misty looking or dark or hazy even at ISO 100 and shutter speed 15, aperture 18. I bought everything i thought needed, a Nikon D7100 24.1 MP DX-Format CMOS Digital SLR and even buying a macro lense Nikon 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor Lens just to ensure i brought out beautiful pictures but was always having not too sharp pictures especially on the stones, until i stumbled upon this studio kit and wow saw the difference ( i had just been wasting my time). I wish i had started with this could have saved my self all the delay of having to push my website launch a moth before cos of no pictures for my developers to use, now i take 200 pictures a day (before this kit, i would need to take like 40 shots per picture and it was just luck that i would get a good picture. thank you studio pro. For those who are going into macro and unsure of what camera or lense to buy, regardless of what you buy, this kit will really enhance your products. It didnt matter that i got a top notch camera and lense, i still needed good lighting not just any lighting. Meanwhile not to mention names but i bought a set of lights here on amazon, terrible as it was always making my stones yellow. You will not be disappointed with this kit. Trust me. Worth every penny.

QUALITY:I purchased the bundle set which includes the 5 mat board backgrounds and 2 reflector cards. It arrived with parts missing, which isn't a big deal since it seems pretty hassle-free to request for missing parts. However, one thing I find that the other reviews did not stress enough on is the quality of the material used for this product. To put it simply, all the items included in this bundle- with material cost taken into consideration, could not have gone pass 35-40USD to manufacture, making the price of 130, in my opinion, hardly justifiable. The mat board backgrounds are craft papers you would find at the common arts & craft stores, same with the reflectors which are also just craft boards with a gloss finish, also can be found at any arts & craft store for a fairer price. The plastic stand/frame which holds up the light is also made of flimsy, low quality plastic. If you are looking to get your money worth in quality, sturdy manufacturing, I would suggest finding an alternative source, or building your own through Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and arts & craft stores.FUNCTION:With that said, the product functions as advertised. It works better than light boxes, but not as well as soft boxes/continuous lighting kits; but if you are handy with a digital-SLR (professional digital camera) it should be sufficient. It 'can' be portable but not built to be conveniently so.PRO: Simple. Functional.CON: Low quality built/cheap parts. Not conveniently portable. Limited angles. Limited height.CONCLUSION:If you are just looking for a quick solution and a simple setup to taking decent quality professional product photos (better than what light boxes can produce), then this will do the job; but if you are looking for a quality built studio kit, this is not what you will get.PERSONAL:The concept of this product is excellent. I hope to see other merchants take notice and produce similar kits to drive up the competition so that we can see fairer and lower prices.
