I have been using these fly sticks for three years now and they are best for catching the flies and moths and they last for about two or three months.

I bought these first because I couldn't find the traditional fly strips for some reason. I have a corner of my house that apparently has just the right conditions for flies early in the morning. I noticed them all gathered in one spot for whatever reason, I think it is the early sunlight and perhaps some chives I have growing under a tree, but they swarm there just after the sun shines in that one area. The first morning, the trap was completely covered with flies, hundreds. The next day I went out and put another up next to the first, within 5-10 minutes it was completely coated, so I grabbed a 3rd one and put it next to the others, it too was coated within just a few minutes. The flies prefer landing on the sunny side, so I turned them 180 degrees where the fly density was slightly lower and soon it was covered just like the other side. I went through 4 traps in 3 days. I don't have any animals, so who knows were these things are coming from, but these traps are something they can't resist or escape from. I even trapped some hornets with it. Maybe they came for the flies. I am on my second box of these. The pull down fly paper spirals have a few flies, but nothing like these. If you really have fly issues these will definitely thin the crowd in short order. I don't think I would place them near a outside door, because they may actually increase the chance of bringing flies in the house.
