Granny Square Basics: Learn How to Crochet and Join Granny Square Motifs

I have done several granny squares. The instructions for granny squares in this book is a little different but basically the same I have always done. I got this book when I was looking for different ways to put the granny squares together. It has very good variety of instructions for this. With its pictures, it's a good little book to have.

I wanted a simple, basic, easy to understand illustrated book and I was especially wanting to know how to join the squares. This book had GREAT illustrations and easy to follow instructions. It was perfect! Now I'm off to crochet ...

This book wasn't what I was looking for. Besides that the cover is nice and glossy and the inside pages don't have any color. It just wasn't what i was looking for and wasted my money on.

A little more info for a basic book should be included. Up front talking about materials and what yarn to use for beginners. A demo page on how to hold the crochet hook and how to maintain tension. That would have been helpful. It jumped right into stitches. Black and white examples.

This is a gift for my daughter. She is beginning to crochet and wanted a book that showed her how to do granny squares. I am sure she will find the information in the book helpful. The item arrived on time and was as described.

I like the fact that there are pictures to show you the granny square crochet plus helpful hints.

Helpful little book. I would have given it 5 stars if the illustrations had been in colour.
