VIZIO SB3621n-E8B 2.1 Soundbar Home Speaker, Black (Manufacturer Renewed)

This soundbar was exactly what I was looking for at a price I didn’t think would be feasible. I use it connected to my TV for movies, video games, sports and tv shows and connect with my phone and laptop to play music. It is very easy to use once you get the settings figured out (I recommend playing around with them for a bit to get a feel).Movies- I live in an apartment where the living room, dining room and kitchen are all open and connected in a wide rectangle shape and the surround works really well for a 2 piece sound system in this large space. It adds a whole new dimension to some of my favorite movies like the Star Wars saga and Lord of the Rings that tv speakers and most cheap sound systems can’t give you. The subwoofer really bumps for its size and helps immerse you in what you’re watching.Music - It also plays music very well (just be sure to switch to music mode for the equalizer and turn surround off if you want the best sound) and can get way louder than I would ever want it. I listen to a wide variety of music: hip hop, classic to modern rock, folk, pop, blues, easy listening to name a few; and hip hop is definitely my favorite to play over the soundbar but everything I’ve tried sounds great on it. If the music doesn’t sound great it probably means it’s in movie mode!Overall I am extremely satisfied and recommend it for anyone looking for a budget sound system without sacrificing much sound or build quality. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have hdmi-arc but it’s really not that big of a deal to me. My roommate is getting one for his house next year and another of my friends bought one for his house after hearing mine.

Read many of the reviews and questions about this sound bar and many other before ordering this one as a low budget sound bar for a older Sony Bravia that always marginal sound from the factory speakers. First lets say the unit arrived packaged like a new unit, box, Styrofoam, everything wrapped in plastic. The remote was sealed in a bag with the batteries. Had all the cords per what is listed in the description. The sound bar, the subwoofer and the remote all looked brand new, not a scratch on them. Hooked up in minutes, with an optical cable, sync'd with the sub worked like a charm. TV sounded great, unit really cranks. Sync'd to my iPhone, followed directions and worked very well, music sounded great. Only issues I had was programming my remotes to work with the sound bar. The ATT Uverse was easy to program, looked that up online and found the Visio code. Could not get any codes to work with the Bravia Remote.

EDIT 1 week later: I won't delete my previous positings, I want transparency in my process. I went from 5 stars to 3, and now back to 4 stars. After a lot.. A LOT of adjusting the bass/treb/sub settings I now get better voice to the point where I don't have to adjust my volume every 3 seconds. To get better voice, I have kept bass in the middle, tuned down treb slightly, ~1.5 notches below middle, and then turned up the sub 2 full points above middle. I think this allows the mid's to come through on the sub better bringing the voice up, while bringing down the treble so I don't have my ears bleed during a big action scene. Its still not perfect, but I'm OK with the voice level now. Because of how long it took me to figure out I can't give this a 5 star, but still giving it 4 stars-at this price point you can not beat the sound-but be prepared to have my experience of constantly messing with the settings to get it just where you want it...EDIT: Initial impressions were 5 star. Downgrading to three star-mainly because I have finally realized that if I want the sound I want, I can't go cheap. Yamaha yas 101 had great voice clarity with the settings right, VIZIO doesn't offer this like my Yamaha did. This vizio has BIG sound, my Yamaha did not. However, hearing the voice is more important, as i would like to follow whats going on and understand what I'm watching. I literally have to turn the volume 3/4 full on this to hear voice in a medium size room, at that volume though I go deaf with the sound effects. I have spent much time messing with the levels of treble and bass and sub and the other options, I can say that I'm not going to use this sound bar anymore and go back to the Yamaha yas 101... Granted I understand a 2.1 sound bar has its limitations, but really, I should be able to hear dialogue on all the tings I watch. This SHOULD be a given and the focus of any system made for television or movies.Also, mad at CNET for giving this such good reviews. I suppose everyone is now conditioned to assume big sound= good sound. This is not the case at all-we deserve better sound, not necessarily big sound.I am upgrading from a Yamaha yas 101, and overall this is better. I say overall, because the yahama had a few things going for it- the features. clear voice option and univolume option are amazing features, I did not have to touch the remote more than once. Once I had the volume set to where I wanted it I could set it and forget it. Commercials would not be blazing loud and I could clearly hear dialogue.that being said, the sound of the vizio SB362-E8B is far superior overall. I suppose its the separate sub woofer, which the yas 101 doesn't have-only two 3 inch mid woofers which did provide bass, but not bass you could feel-only bass you could hear. The additional sub woofer of the Vizio is pretty darn good and not muddy and I really feel it. The main unit sound is good and clear. Music plays very well on this thing for a sound bar- obviously a receiver and 2 bookshelf speakers would be better, but at this price point and format its actually amazing. I would feel good using this as the only music source at a small to medium size party.the only thing with this, is that I have to hold onto the sound remote to adjust volume and at times the sound overpowers the voice-its not bad though, its just the Yamaha yas-101 was far superior for dialogue.If you need a very good system, but don't have $$$ to spend, this is the one for you.

This sound bar with sub woofer worked great right out of the box. Sound is better than I expected for the price. Very happy to report that it works with my 2015 Amazon Fire HD 10” 5th Generation Tablet for both Music and Movies. Setup was as easy as plugging in the sound bar and sub woofer, then plugging in a 3.5mm to 3.5mm Audio Cord from the sound bar to the headphone jack of my Amazon Fire Tablet. Right now I am watching TV using my HULU subscription on my Fire tablet and the sound is great, dialog is very clear, volume and treble and bass and sub woofer can be adjusted from the sound bar or from the remote control. My music collection also sounds great. I can also connect my iPod Touch to the sound bar using its headphone jack to listen to music.. my own or Pandora. I am considering buying a 2nd one to hook up to my Samsung 4K UHD Smart TV and connecting via Optical cable. Can also be connected using Bluetooth or USB. If your equipment lacks a headphone jack, you could connect by Bluetooth.

I was a little apprehensive about purchasing a re-furbished soundbar but we could not be happier. Set up took a toal of 8 minutes and the sound is much better than expected! It is amazing how clear and deep the base is from such a small sub-woofer but it easily matches what we were used to from our previous BOSE system. The sound bar itself is easy to place and offers clear, crisp sound. If we have one minor complaint, it is that the remote is not lit so it can be difficult to use in a darkened room. Otherwise, great product, great sound and amazing value!Amazon ,as usual, delivered on time as promised - great purchase experience.

The dialogue sound is a little lost in the surround mode. Setup in an alternate mode and the dialogue was better. Would be nice if there was an app to better tune the speaker to accentuate personal preference. No problem to setup so this powers on and off along with my TV as the speaker and TV are CEC capable. Streaming music from my phone via Bluetooth works well, great reproduction for music.

Good sound, the sub is great especially for movies. The high pitch sounds are a bit brittle, but for the money it's totally fine. Great way to upgrade from tv speakers In an affordable way.

We were fairly reluctant to purchase this soundbar or any soundbar for that matter. We just didn't think that the sound would really be that impressive considering the size, and cost. We read a lot of reviews about this vizio soundbar, and ultimately getting the renewed unit was even more of a concern. Again the reviews were positive, and when it came on sale, we decided to give it a try.The soundbar arrived in the original vizio box, and to be honest looked every part of brand new. Everything was packaged as new, and everything was in new condition. Amazing.Hooking it up, it sounds far better than we thought it would. The base isn't like our 10" sub in the theater room, but its also not in the same league. Connecting the sub to the sound bar was a breeze. We just plugged the two of them in, and they automatically connected and we have never had any issues whatsoever.We are absolutely happy, and would absolutely buy it again.

Great value for the money.You won't experience the room shaking power of a more pricey system but this unit will vastly improve your listening ability when compared with the built in television speakers.My wife's hearing isn't what it once was and this sound system has certainly helped her to not miss dialogue that she formerly struggled with.
