Better than many drilling bits.
I use self-drilling screws a lot in all manner of ways. As pre-weld fixings, as permanent anchors and as inexpensive drills. Compared to a box of medium cost drills, these self drilling screws will drill 2-3 holes each, 100 screws = 300 holes to a pack. They drill without overheating and after all the holes are drilled, you've still got 100 excellent screws left over. The washers ensure a waterproof seal for use on roofs, etc.
