Strong and pronounced Kenyan taste
Great value for two boxes of 80 bags. Every now and then I want a cup of bag tea, not loose, and nothing fancy. Over the last few years, teas like Tetley British Blend, PG Tips and Yorkshire Gold have gotten weak and dusty-tasting.This is a good and strong Kenyan blend with Assam. It brews up golden-amber with two bags in a pint of water yet it tastes strong. The Kenyan comes through, somewhat grassy and then you taste the more malty flavor of the Assam. It has a pronounced Kenyan aroma, herbal and a bit citrusy but it will leave a tannic fur on your tongue if you brew it too strong. A dash of milk is great or a bit of sugar.I actually find this tea is great if made up in a teapot (about 4 cups) and 2 bags. I can drink it all day long with no sugar, as it's not overly tannic or bitter.I've been dissatisfied with Yorkshire Gold and with PG Tips lately. This tea has not disappointed. A strong, mellow cup that stands up to milk or lemon. I enjoy it a lot.If you find your bag tea has gotten weak on you, this may fit the bill. This comes in two boxes of the standard 80 bags, square, flat style bags.

Good Value
Good value, good quality, nice quantity. Nothing's better than a nice, hot mug with a couple cookies on a cold day!

So so tea
Drinkable but I prefer both Yorkshire Gold or Tetley which also happen to be less expensive as well.

The best tea
Im northern and i like a good strong cup of tea. The popular brands available in the supermarket just don’t cut it. Kings assam is by far the best strong tea i’ve found.

Refreshing full-bodied satisfying cuppa, with a lovely deep golden colour, Recommended.
As our tea drinking has increased threefold due to lockdown (not to mention biscuits & cakes, sorry I mentioned them!), I thought I would try these ‘Kings Premium’ tea bags, a UK brand I had not heard of before. The bags are square and are a blend of Kenyan and Assam teas, which give a strong full flavour, just like our usual choice of a well-known breakfast tea brand.Three minutes brewing time is suggested, which is not dissimilar to others. My wife and I were both very pleased with the results. It gives you a refreshing full-bodied satisfying cuppa, with a lovely deep golden colour.Comparably priced to our existing choice of premium breakfast tea. I will consider this brand when I am replenishing stocks in the future, I can highly recommend it.A bit of knowledge that I have accrued along the way: Assam is a region in India renowned for its black tea. The Assam tea mixed into this blend is ‘second flush’. The first flush (harvest) is generally the lighter more expensive tea, with the second being well-rounded, fruity, and mature and is used in most of our popular day-to-day teas.

Good quality tea
Kings Gold Tea2 X 80 teabags boxes.Net weight 250gManufacturer: Harlans Ltd, England UK.The teabags come in 2 separate boxes of 80 teabags (total 160 teabags) wrapped in cellophane to keep them from absorbing moisture and losing the flavour. They have a long best before date, December 2023 in the ones I received, although I’m sure tea can last many years if kept in an airtight container.Only the finest, seasonal, black teas of Ceylon, Kenya and Assam are selected by our expert blenders to create our masterpiece Kings Tea Gold.Delicate citrus notes of Ceylon, the strength of Kenyan and body and roundness of Assam complement each other perfectly to create a tea that is unique in character and unparalleled in taste.Gold tea (of any brand) is usually more commonly known as the premium and higher quality of flavour.Opening the cellophane box, it has a pleasant tea aroma. The first thing I noticed was that the box lid wasn’t covered in brown teabag dust which is always a good signal for quality, poorer quality teabags have this brown dust everywhere and even a dusting in the cellophane the box is packaged in.I made my brew in the usual way to give a true opinion of the teabags, boiled kettle and let it stand for a couple of minutes, add teabag to mug, too up with previous boiled water from the kettle, let the mug stand for a minute, quick stir then remove teabag. The result was a beautiful golden orange colour, as predicted, and still a light enough in colour to see the bottom of the mug. I always drink my tea black and immediately after brewing. It tasted really nice and smooth and not tart or bitter either, no unpleasant aftertaste lingered around like it does with some teas.
