I like this clock a lot. It has an easily adjustable brightness level for when the bedroom is in darkness. This allows the clock to be seen without it being too bright. The comments regarding it being difficult to see in daylight are accurate but it has a big button on top which lights up the face for a few seconds when pressed, then it is very bright and clear with the blue digits you can see in the main images on the Amazon page . It is very easy to set up and to use. Being a digital readout it is 100% silent in operation. It's great value for money.

Have this clock on minimum setting at night as bedroom fairly dark. I find it easy to read when dark which is why I purchased it. If you want to view the time during the day though you may struggle as display is very dim unless natural light is coming from the right direction.There is a display button which you can press which illuminates the display for a few seconds.If you want to be able to easily read the display day and night I would suggest that this clock is not for you. If like me you require a clock which runs on batteries,does not light up the room at night,does not need any button pressed to see display (at night) and is easy to set up it should be right up your street.

This is a wonderful little clock. It was bought for someone who wanted something that was readable in the dark, but isn't so bright that it'll keep you awake.It has adjustable brightness, can go from brilliant to almost only visible in darkness, it works wonderfully. At minimum brightness, it has been running for the best part of two years on the original batteries. It's small, inexpensive, light, and functional. Very happy with it.

Alarm stops after one minute, which it would go until stopped but preference.Only main complaint is you can’t see numbers form a slightly lower angle so forget putting it anywhere above your eye level of you want to read it from a shelf.However, after using for around a month I like it. It’s small, easy to change the alarm time (I have Pretty Radom work hours) with a pretty good alarm.

I was looking for a clock with a subtle display so that when I cocked one eye open in the middle of the night I'd be able to see what time it was without being dazzled by neon bright lights causing little bursts of light to flash around my head for the next five minutes after I'd re-closed my eyes .... and that is exactly what I got with this little beauty. The lights are so subtle that in the daylight the time can barely be read, unless the button on the top is pressed and then it lights up very nicely.The alarm is easy to set, it's loud enough to wake me up. The display digits are a lovely big size so that I can read them easily without my specs on.Are you getting the picture yet? I think this clock is ACE and would heartily recommend it to anyone wanting to know what time it is but not to be blinded by the light!!!!!!

Low-level lighting which lasts a couple of years (at least) on a single set of batteries - I know because this is the third of these that I've ordered (for different rooms of the house as well as one as a gift for my Mum).Simply superb for those who have to get up in the night for whatever reason, but don't want the "glare" of a more conventional digital clock, "jolting" them awake at some ungodly hour.Decent alarm as well, with snooze function.Light is dimmable from hardly visible to pretty bright - excellent quality overall and definitely recommended :-)

Let me explain why I have only given a 3 star rating. I ordered 2 of these clocks. The first one I put the batteries in and only half the numbers would display. Therefore disappointed as a faulty clock which I will be returning. Not a good start. Thankfully the second clock worked fine. I cannot cope with a ticking clock and this one is great as it has a silent tick. The time does not display in daylight, but at night it's great. You can make the display as bright as you like as there is a little dimming switch on the back. Again I do not like bright displays as they keep me awake. I have this one on quite a low setting and I can clearly see it through the night. There is also a button to press on the top of the clock if you want to brighten the display temporarily, but to be honest that is not required as it's easy to see the display at night. I'm not bothered that you cannot see the display in daylight hrs as it for night time use. I have not tried the alarm, so I cannot comment on that. It is also very easy to set the time. It is made of hard thin plastic and you could say not particularly robust. But then it is a very reasonably priced little clock. Rating the clock that works, I would give it a 5 star rating.

After reading loads of reviews I decided on this for my wife, she wanted a clock to see the time at night as the clock/radio on my side is too far away without her glasses. This clock is ideal for that purpose it has large numbers and is clear at night without being too bright. It is silent as well another consideration for us.As described by others it isn't very easy to see in the daylight but that isn't a problem for us!Just hope the 2 AA batteries last well?So for a cheap clock I would give it 9 out of 10 knocking off 1 point for the daylight performance. So if this is why you are after a clock I would recommend this!
