The first person to get into this book was actually my 7 year old who is by no means a Maths wizard, but the book is simple to read and progresses at a good pace with interesting objectives, questions and quizzes using real life situations that are easy to understand. We are not even close to finishing but at over 100 pages in I can say this is a winner.

This book comes up with some interesting, alternative ways of understanding how to approach GCSE maths problems.It does not cover the all GCSE curriculum but the examples given are useful.

Pros: Good explanations and examples. Good use of context.HOWEVERCons: This book will not get you a GCSE. It does not include a large part of the GCSE Syllabus. It will help you revise the basics of KS2 and KS3 but doesn't even include a lot of the KS3 stuff which underpins the progression to GCSE.It also has grammatical errors in it. "We was...." is used in an example. Ouch! Maths guys - you should've got it proofread.

This book might lead you believe it's for GCSEs. It's not. It's KS3 mostly. It wont get you through the exam, because big chunks of the syllabus are missing. There is no algebra to speak of, and the GCSE calls for Simultaneous and Quadratic equations and has done since it's inception.That being said, the contents are well present with good exercises, with methods and explainations. All well and good, but not what it proclaims to be I'm afraid. Mine's going back.
