Well made and looks nice

A gadget. That says it all.

I like the product concept. However, the 25 minutes hourglass is off about 2 minutes. (clocks about 23 mins). The 5 mins one is fine, about just 10 sec off. I know if accuracy is important, I should use digital timers. However, 2 minutes difference is too much to ignore and justify the issue by the fact it is an hourglass. I would expect better accuracy like off in 30 seconds like others mentioned in their reviews at this price point. Updated 2024-09-04: I returned the first one shipped to me and reordered the same product again to see whether the other ones have same issue or not. The reordered one had a better accuracy, 25-minute one clocked about 25:45 and 5-minute one is just off 5 sec or so. Now, I love using the product as it help me do pomodoro technique and I prefer hourglass as it gives me a good feeling over digital timers. I will keep the product this time. I can recommend the product but make sure you measure their accuracy (but do not expect too much - as its nature of hourglasses, they can't be precise perfectly. Also, there are other factors like temperature change the amount of off time)

These are lovely, and delightful to use. However I can't give five stars because the base for the five minute timer is small enough to prevent the glass from sitting securely. It tilts and turns in the socket, making it easy to offset it in a way that it falls over. Mine fell out of the socket once already, resulting in a scratch on the glass. Luckily I caught it before it rolled off the desk so there wasn't any damage beyond the small blemish.
