This is a very good product.The Night Hawk security light is nicely designed and the build quality is good. It proved to be very easy to install and adjust. The aesthetics of things are important to me and as security lights go the Night Hawk is the most attractive I have seen. Both the light array and the sensor are adjustable in the horizontal and vertical modes so it is very easy to set the light up to give you the ideal light coverage and illumination. The light output is not as powerful as the older style halogen units but more than adequate to illuminate my average sized back yard and to not upset the neighbours, plus the energy usage is going to be far less and the led's should last for ever !The PIR sensor is thoughtfully sealed with clear silicone around the edge of the lens to stop water ingress. And the lighting 'head' unit itself turns with a satisfying and positive click. The back plate of the head unit is made from cast alloy incorporating a heat sink to dissipate the energy created by the 8 very powerful leds's. All in all this is a really good product and comes thoroughly recommended. Finally it arrived quickly and well packaged from one of Amazon's affiliated sellers and at the price paid represents something of a bargain in my eyes.Edit. After a couple of weeks of installation the light failed, with the light set constantly on. I am not sure why this happened but the seller replaced the item with no questions asked and the new replacement unit is thus far performing faultlessly 5 months later having endured the worst winter hail and rain storms I can ever remember !

The good bit: it's a great light that is both aesthetically pleasing and saves you money. Despite the extra cost I thought this would be a good choice.The bad bit: the PIR only seems to work if you are walking across the front of the light. Walk towards it (as if you are walking up a drive) and it's almost useless. Further the range of the sensor is at best 70-80 degrees, certainly not 140. Read some of the blurb with the unit and it indicates that walking towards a PIR reduces 'sensitivity.' I have never has this issue either with other kinds of security light in this location, nor with the light across the street (which activates at a distance of 16-20m) as I walk down my own drive.Overall, if you have visitors or intruders who agree to walk across the range of the PIR (waving hands ideally) then this is a great light. Place this on a drive and need to walk towards it and it's easily the worst PIR light I have ever encountered and that includes the cheap ones from the local DIY store.Thanks goodness I purchased this from Amazon, at least there won't be a problem with the return.

I am very impressed with this product. I have actually bought these to replace the current LED security lights I currently have installed as they are not bright enough.To begin with, installation. It's one of the easiest lights I have ever installed. Plenty of space to get the twin and earth in and comfortably fits in. The light fits over the back box with ease and a single screw secure this.Performance: the light unit has plenty of adjustment. Tilt and rotate. The head adjusts with a ratchet mechanism. The optics help the light to focus and give a good punch. I can now get light to the bottom of my garden with ease at 10m. I also like the way the PIR can be adjusted. Not only can you adjust laterally, but also up/down. This gives a lot of flexibility in getting the sensor to work they way you want it.Manual over ride is easy also. Switch on/off within 3 seconds and you have manual operation of keeping the light on. This can easily be reverted back to auto.Another clever feature is the ability to control additional heads which can be bought without the PIR.The construction of the fitting is nice and robust. Those of you who are familiar with LED technology, this product uses good branded LEDs. This is a great product and worth the money.

Works well, good light covers out 8 metre entrance easily with more than enough width. Have connected to 3 pin socket inside with 3 amp fuse so we can turn it off when at home not expecting visitors. Sensitive PIR sees cat on drive. Not a big problem but when dropped off by friends the other night it did not come on, approached it and put my hand up, on it came. Realised next morning it was their car headlights on the drive shining at it. A good product, looks good and good value, easy to install. I was replacing an existing carriage lamp but first I connected the new one to a temporary lead to test it was functioning before I installed it. Saves a lot of agro, (and bad language), if it is faulty.

Bought this as a replacement for a previous one which had failed on the house. The instructions are clear, the connectors decent quality and the performance is very good. Easy install in 15 mins and provides decent (but not blinding) light.

Not very bright and the sensor doesn't have the best range. Wouldn't buy again.
