Outstanding book for the basics of live sound. Most other books are very long and very tech-y. This one boils down everything into practical, basic info. I used this in a grad class I taught focused on digital recording and setting up a sound system for music educators. I will definitely use this book again in the future. Great text!

Great entry level book describing live sound needs and techniques.

If you just bought your mixer and have no idea what to do with it, this book is for you. It's really simple, what makes it ideal for young engineers. People with absolutely no experience will be able to mix a live band right away with this book.

Very good, basic explanation of sound reinforcement.

I had almost no knowledge of live soundReinforcement, but after reading this book i feel prepared to tackle live sound for our rock and roll cover band

I would recommend this book be read by new recruits to running soundboards as their Initial homework before being hand-walked through the concepts.However, in reading it (it is a fast read of perhaps 3 hours) I learned that I have more learning to do about 1/4 inch...so while basic, perhaps even old hands can use a refresher!

Simpleton book as others have said. If you want something for someone that knows nothing about sound board operation, then this will give them a very general idea. Otherwise, not much good.

I needed basic and more info with a clear explanation - this did it for me! I would recommend it for those seeking basic knowledge, maybe more knowledge.
