Let me start by saying Holland Computers is great. I don't want this to come across as a knock on them. They're a great company and I would order from them again.The MagStik Plus, however, is horrible. It's so stiff and heavy that it makes playing virtually any game well nearly impossible. It feels like an invisible person is pulling on the other side of the stick while you're playing. You have to jerk the stick hard to get it to come free from the magnetic center, and there's no smooth motion even once you do that. The sound of that constant struggle was so loud.The main reason I got it was to play Ms. Pac-Man, but it's so heavy and slow that it made turning corners awful, and every minute or so it would stick and I'd be trapped in a corner and die.I tried it for two days and was so frustrated by it, I returned it. Holland Computers sent me a full refund within a day, so again, they are great.It was sent wrapped in bubble wrap, and it needed to be boxed. Some of the switches were bent; see the picture I attached. And for $50, it should come with a .187 to 5-pin converter harness so that it's plug-and-play with virtually any modern arcade.There were no instructions, which was annoying. You have to take the stick apart to mount it in the arcade, which is a hassle. The 4-to-8-way switch does work, but every time I did it I had to pull and twist for a while to find the groove.I'm not sure how this stick this has so many good reviews.

I used this in my DIY arcade build and it has been fantastic! The kit I purchased came with a pair of modern 8 way joysticks which are great for most games, but when you want to go old school and play those classics like Ms. Pac Man the 8 way sticks are awful, frequently misinterpreting your movements if you accidentally hit those corners. It is SO easy to switch between 8 and 4 way on this stick. You just lightly pull up, slightly rotate the stick and it toggles back and forth. All the other models that switch back and forth require you to get under the panel and flip a toggle switch. This one is very, very easily and definitely worth the money if you want to play a mix of classic arcade games and not miss out on Street Fighter. :)

Pay close attention when you take these apart for installation. It's too easy to reassemble them incorrectly and you won't be able to convert back and forth if you do so. Once installed, I can easily switch for frogger/pack man/donkey kong type games and robotron. Using 8-way on those 4-way games is awful. Good quality. Good game play.

Solid product. Excellent feel and easy to swap between 4/8 way use.
