The texture on the handle is great
These are solid, strong grab rails which have an area with groves in it which keep your hands from sliding. As long as they are properly mounted to wall studs they should provide good security

Nice As Any I've Seen in Hotel/Motel Bathrooms
For about a New York minute, I considered trying suction style grab bars since installation would have been a breeze. I dismissed this out of hand once our household’s very active, over-eighty elder had a slip and fall in his own bedroom that required several days’ hospitalization plus eight weeks of home care with nurses, physical therapists and home health aides coming and going at all hours to oversee and assist with recovery from a serious leg injury. When there’s no margin to experiment with anything less than 100% reliable, this pair of bars is far more failure free than any suction cup could ever be. Although installation required drilling into white tile walls of a rental unit, it’s protected as a reasonable accommodation under the Americans With Disabilities Act: the tenant must supply any equipment required (this one pair of grab bars safely serves both the soaking tub and shower area), while the landlord’s responsible for installation. Design-wise, I chose chrome for our tub-with-shower set, assuming it would harmonize with this tub-with-shower area's chrome fittings, and it does not disappoint. Feels a bit reminiscent of being on holiday at any hotel/motel bathroom and they look like they've always been there.

Grip surface is less than 8", included hardware inadequate for safety.
I thought that a 16" grab bar meant a grab bar that is 16" long. Turns out, they're including the brackets in that measurement. This is laid out in the diagram, but that was not available when I ordered it through Vine. The bar is much smaller than I expected. The quality is ok, but the usefulness is limited by the fact that there is about 30% less grip surface than was implied by the info I received when ordering. This bar has less than 8 inches of textured grip surface. When falling, it can be challenging to grab a surface that small, which is why an 18 inch bar is generally the minimum length you'll find.I have a very small bath, with the shower in the tub -major slip hazard- and I wanted a small bar that I could tuck in between the shower and the window, and another that would fit between the metal steam heat bars and the sink.I knew that these bars would fit, and expected that they would be a little small, but they're actually a LOT small. If more of the bar had been textured, they could have made up the difference. I consider this a design error. The brackets are well designed, and are mounted to the wall, then the cover plates are slid onto the bar, the bar is attached to the plates, then the cover plates are slid down onto the brackets. Easy to install, but you will need your own hardware, theirs is very poor quality and smaller than is advisable. That would be the crux of my only giving this product 3 stars. The hardware included is not sufficient for a safety bar. You need good quality drywall anchors, or, if installing in plaster, a molle/toggle bolt. These soft white baby anchors are cute, but stupid. This was, in my opinion, a poor place to cut corners. When looking at purchasing these bars, please consider if the grab surface is big enough for your need, and you will also want to price the hardware you will need to mount them. For me, mounting in plaster lathe, that cost an extra $10, increasing the cost of this product by 50%, and making it a much worse deal than I had anticipated.2 stars deducted for inappropriate hardware for a safety bar, and the bar having only 7 1/2 inches of actual safe grabbing surface.

Sturdy Hand Rails
The hand rails are textured so your hands don't slip off of them. Be sure to use silicon caulk in the screw holes to prevent water from getting into the wall. Work great for small older hands

Solid Grab Bars, a must have for elderly.
You'll need a drill, level, tile bits (if installing into the tile) and metal or wood bits, depending on your type of wall studs, and screwdriver.* Note this should not be installed into sheetrock alone, otherwise you have a significant risk of pulling the bar right out of the wall; when it's needed the most. Be smart and have a handyman do it if you feel unable to secure it properly. Having a fall isn't worth the risk.- I am currently dealing with a parent who just fell, (not because of the grab bars, but the lack thereof)…so trust me when I say…the aftermath is grueling.Do yourself and your loved one's a favor and start to have safety things like this installed at the first sign of any situation when you see or notice it's harder for them to stand or walk for periods of time. Wish I knew sooner as retrofitting a house afterwards while caring for them too can be very time consuming. These are well worth the cost!!

These shower handles work well
I find myself in need of a little extra help when trying to get out of the tub. I rarely ever get in the bathtub to soak but when I do I like being able to get up and out by myself. I do not need them when taking a shower but a bath is another thing. These were fairly easy for my husband to install and he made sure they were in studs to avoid any falls in the future. Overall, these are doing the job just fine and I would recommend them.
