Game changer for a perfect dimple/countersink in drywall
In the past I have used the drywall dimplers that come in the 4 packs at the big box stores. They work ok, but quickly strip on the Phillips head side, and aren't great at driving drywall screws with a good countersink. I am doing a whole home renovation and have had to replace around 8 sheets of drywall in my kitchen and living room. This Bosch Drywall Dimpler has been amazing for countersinking the drywall screw the exact amount needed each and every time, allowing me to follow up afterwards with mud to hide the screws. The only way you can mess this up is if you don't drive the screw in straight. If you drive the screw at an angle it will causes a portion of the head to stick about the surface of the drywall, which you do not want, of course. I have driven hundreds of drywall screws with this so far and see no signs of wear on the bit yet. Great tool at a great price!

If you don't have a cordless drywall gun, get it.
This thing actually works, for the most part. If it starts to tilt, you will have to set it deeper without it. But, I used it on a 2 room remodel, and was satisfied. I even had a corded drywall gun I didn't use because this was more convenient.

Won't help an amateur drywall installer and I doubt this is what the Pro s use
Maybe this is what pros use but I doubt it. Too much tweaking time when it would not set the screw to the correct depth. Maybe this retired director of engineering did not understand the mechanism but if that statement is true then it is significant all by itself. I ended up using an impact driver on slow speed and just visually set the screws to the right depth. My method was fast enough and reliable without the tool. I only had a 600 square foot cabin and 3 ceilings to do so if you need a fast screw setting tool then keep looking.

Perfect for hanging drywall
I never knew that I needed a dimpler until I began hanging drywall during a kitchen remodel. This little cutey takes all the guesswork out of setting screws at just the right depth. Say it out loud. Dimpler. Who doesn’t need a dimpler?!

Works well for 500 screws
Will eventually break, ordered two and one of them broke. Stops working properly once any dust gets into it.
