We purchased this scanner to use with a Windows tablet and Quickbooks PoS for our receving department.At first we struggled with how quick it would go into sleep mode and have to be woken back up before it would scan. We did find the correct barcode on TaoTronics website to adjust this. It would have been really nice if they included this in the instruction manual.Then one day it stopped communicating with our Windows tablet (Lenovo Miix 720). I have removed the device from the list of paired blue tooth devices, repaired several times. I have reset the scanner to factory defualts, still n go.I tired pairing it with another Windows 10 computer at had similar issues.I did get it to pair with my Android phone and seemed to work, but that doesn't help much as Quickboos Point of sale doesn't run on Android.I tired using there included Dongle and attaching via USB. Both times I ran into driver issues and had no luck installing the drives from their website or the included CD.At this point is a paper weight.

I purchased the barcode scanner to easily enter my inventory serial numbers and MAC addresses into an Excel spreadsheet for record keeping. Before, I had accomplished this task by hand and it took me HOURS to complete, not to mention all the potential errors in entering all that data by hand. I had the scanner up and running in about 5 minutes. 5 minutes after that I had entered over 50 items into my Excel file. What a HUGE time saver.

I purchased 3 of these bar-code scanners for scanning product in/out of trailers. My guess is that they were not designed to scan large volume, as all of the buzzers have stopped emitting sound of any kind. One of the reasons I choose these scanners where the fact that they beep. This helps my crews keep track of what has been counted and reduces error. Without the beeping, they are very inaccurate. I have contacted customer support and the manufacture only replaced one scanner even thought it clearly states they all came with a one year warranty. I was forced to purchase a fourth scanner, to replace at least one of the non-functioning units, and I received it broken! The trigger spring appears to be broken and it is impossible to depress the trigger. Lucky for me, AMAZON stepped up to the place and sent me a replacement right away. TAOtronics, Bad customer service in my opinion, they still have not responded to my last email.EDIT: I have received replacements though the manufacture. I am changing the review to two stars, simply because they sent new ones. Since replacing all of our scanners we have already broken one of them. As stated, these are not designed for warehouse use.Second EDIT: The company has now replaced all scanners that showed issues. Have rewarded them with a third Star.

It came with an USB port to allow any computer/Laptopbecome a Bluetooth enabled computer. I did not need it. My laptop has Bluetooth already.EASY INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS1. Make sure you fully charge the scanner first! The GREEN LED will turn during charging. It can fully charge in around 2.5 hours. While the scanner is ON, if no operation is performed in 10 seconds, the scanner will automatically turn OFF to save battery.Please see 2nd image I posted with codes to increase the default 10 seconds shut off.I was told by a Taotronics support rep that on "NO SLEEP" mode last up to 30 hours. I haven’t tested that yet.2. If your computer/laptop came with Bluetooth included go to the Bluetooth option. There should be an option named “Add Device” DO NOT CLICK ON IT YET.3. Press and HOLD the scan button for as long as 12 seconds until the BLUE and RED LED light starts blinking at the same time. The scanner is now in PAIRING mode.4. On the computer click on “Add Device”. Look for an option that says: “General Bluetooth HID Barcode Scanner”. In my laptop it came up with an icon that looks like a keyboard.Select that and click on next. Your scanner should show up in the Bluetooth devices now. Please see image 3rd I posted.

Could not be more pleased. Connected to the computer bluetooth within seconds. It scans AMAZINGLY fast and accurately. Went around house just to find barcodes to scan, worked like a champ. Downside: it uses an ethernet RJ45 connector in the base to charge that makes a solid connection, but is difficult to remove due to how deep the plug goes into handle. Don't know why that just isn't a standard USB cable. Mental note: DO NOT LOSE CABLE THAT IS INCLUDED!

Hooked this scanner up to my Kindle and turned it into an inventory counting machine!! Was using Symbol tethered scanners all over my warehouse and slowly phasing them out for this mobile baby! Easy to work with and program. Almost never have to charge the thing. Go to the manufacturers website and download the supplemental scanner programming codes for turn off time (we set ours to turn off at 10 mins and this option is not included in the manual thatcomes with it). Do not lose the book that comes with it, they have a manual online to program, but the barcodes are too blurry to scan (it is not my printer, since I can scan the supplemental timer programming barcodes with no problem). Even though the online manual cannot be scanned, this still gets 5 stars because of how amazing it is!

First this barcode scanner works on the Mac, and windows computers including Windows 10. The device is solid with great battery life and an ergonomic shape.The problem is that it turns off way too fast. There is always a pause between products to reconnect to the computer. I read through the book and found no way to increase the timeout timer.I found the page online that allows for increase sleep timeout.
